About the Role

The Supervisor – Master Files is an integral part of Latham’s Revenue Operations team. This role will be responsible for supervising the daily operations of the Master Files and ensuring compliance with all policies and procedures of the firm, while managing and maintaining the timely workflow of master billing files and providing guidance to the Master File team regarding all master file set‑ups, including client matter and timekeeper master set‑ups, including billing rates and exception rate hierarchies. This role will be located in our Global Services Office in Downtown Los Angeles. Please note that this role may be eligible for a flexible working schedule that allows for a hybrid and in-office presence. 

Responsibilities & Qualifications

Other key responsibilities include:

  • Resolving highly complex and sensitive master file issues, with authority to process exceptions and transactions that aid in the timely and accurate resolution of complex rate inquiries
  • Resolving service‑related activity for the firm with regards to master file management and processing, responding to all forms of inquiries from practice offices and other internal customers
  • Gathering and defining functional requirements for Elite 3E billing enhancement projects, providing functional Elite 3E master file support services for practice offices
  • Delivering UAT and regression testing results for Elite 3E master file enhancements, fixes, and software upgrade projects
  • Managing the workflow of annual selections from the Rate Selection Website, analyzing data to determine the need for client‑specific rate structures and escalation to management for arrangements requiring additional approval
  • Protecting and maintaining any highly sensitive, confidential, privileged, financial, and/or proprietary information that Latham & Watkins retains

  • A high school diploma
  • A bachelor’s degree in accounting, business administration, or a related field, preferably
  • A minimum of five (5) years of experience supervising legal billing or billing audit at a law firm, preferably
  • A minimum of five (5) years of cumulative professional experience
