Role OverviewWe are looking for a Billing & Payments Manager to own how DeepInfra turns usage into revenue. Thousands of developers and companies run AI models on our platform every day, paying through self-serve credit cards, prepaid developer wallets, and custom enterprise terms - and you'll own the pipeline that meters that usage, bills it accurately, and collects it reliably.
You'll run billing operations, optimize payments performance, protect the platform against billing fraud and abuse, and help launch new pricing models as our product grows. You'll work closely with Engineering, Finance, and Sales. We're looking for someone analytical, operationally sharp, and comfortable working deeply across both data and systems.
What You'll DoUsage-Based Rating & Metering- Telemetry-to-Cash Pipeline: Oversee the end-to-end pipeline from metered usage through rating, invoicing, and cash collection.
Billing Operations & Reconciliations- High-Volume Invoicing: Run monthly and real-time invoicing across thousands of self-serve customers, prepaid developer wallets, and custom enterprise accounts payable terms.
- Daily Reconciliations: Reconcile transaction fees, card authorizations, and chargebacks against Stripe and other payment gateways.
Payments & Gateway Infrastructure- Payment Performance: Manage payment gateway routing, interchange optimization, localized payment methods, and retry logic to improve payment success rates and reduce involuntary churn.
Fraud Detection & Abuse Prevention- Billing Fraud: Partner with Engineering to identify and mitigate API billing fraud and abuse.
Credit, Collections & Dunning- Dunning & Suspension: Manage dunning sequences for failed self-serve payments and define automated API key suspension thresholds.
- Collections: Lead collections for overdue mid-market and enterprise accounts.
Cross-Functional Collaboration- Revenue Accounting: Partner with the Corporate Controller on deferred revenue and breakage schedules.
- Pricing Launches: Partner with Engineering and company leadership to operationalize new pricing models, such as committed throughput reservations, burst overages, and multimodal image and audio pricing.
What You Bring- Experience: 6+ years of relevant experience in billing operations, payments, monetization, revenue operations, or related roles, ideally within a usage-based SaaS, cloud infrastructure, fintech, or developer platform business.
- Payments Expertise: Strong hands-on experience with Stripe or comparable payment platforms and a solid understanding of payment authorization, retries, chargebacks, and payment performance.
- Usage-Based Billing: Experience with metered or consumption-based billing, prepaid credits, enterprise invoicing, or other complex billing models.
- Data Fluency: Strong analytical skills and comfort working directly with billing, payment, and usage data. SQL experience is a strong plus.
- Technical Partnership: Ability to work closely with Engineering on billing systems, integrations, fraud controls, and automation.
- Operational Ownership: Comfortable owning critical financial workflows end to end, identifying issues quickly, and building processes and systems that can scale with a rapidly growing business.

CompensationThe base pay range for this role is $150,000 - $180,000 per year.
