OPPORTUNITY

The Bilingual HR Manager is responsible for all core functions of Human Resources (HR) creating an exceptional employee experience. They provide management, oversight and hands-on HR support on a day-to-day basis for all Bi-Rite businesses in both English and Spanish. The HR Manager is responsible for recruiting, onboarding and orientation, personnel record management, benefits administration, accommodations, leave and benefit administration, occupational safety, compliance, learning and development, staff relations and off-boarding procedures. This role also serves as the Safety Lead for all occupational safety programs, initiatives and compliance. Working on-site at multiple assigned Bi-Rite locations, the Bilingual HR Manager helps ensure a consistent, responsive, and welcoming People + Culture presence that reflects Bi-Rite's Mission, Vision, and Core Values of Love, Passion, and Integrity.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for all core HR functions including onboarding and orientation, personnel record management, benefits administration, accommodations, leave and benefit administration, occupational safety, compliance, staff relations and off-boarding procedures.
  • Provides on-site support to staff and managers across Bi-Rite locations, responding to questions and connecting staff with resources related but not limited to policy guidance, benefits enrollment, payroll questions, BRFOB questions, and external resources for personal challenges.
  • Responsible for responding to and triaging workplace concerns including employee relation matters, safety concerns, or personnel challenges affecting work, ensuring timely follow up and resolution in collaboration with the People + Culture Team.
  • Supports recruitment and hiring processes including job postings, candidate coordination, interview scheduling, interviewing, and assisting managers throughout the hiring process.
  • Supports learning and development initiatives, facilitating trainings, coaching managers on staff development, and advancing company learning initiatives.
  • Supports onboarding and orientation process to ensure new staff are welcomed, prepared, and connected to Bi-Rite's Mission, Vision, and Core Values.
  • Hires, trains, manages, and develops department staff (1-2 direct-reports).
  • Responsible for data and information management related to HR systems, personal records, and compliance while ensuring a high level of confidentiality and attention to detail.
  • Responsible for providing guidance and coaching to staff and managers related to workplace communication, feedback, and navigating challenging conversations.
  • Supports managers and staff by serving as a resource and sounding board while helping build skills and confidence to address workplace challenges and maintain positive working relationships.
  • Assists with implementing People + Culture projects and initiatives on-site at all Bi-Rite locations.
  • Supports special projects and events including Community Update communications, annual staff gifts, staff appreciation events, field trips, open enrollment, job fairs, staff surveys and staff programing or campaigns.
  • Facilitates People + Culture training and presentations.
  • Provides support to ensure staff communications and materials are accurately translated to Spanish.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 5+ years of dedicated experience in human resources, preferably in a multi-unit retail, hospitality, food, hospitality, manufacturing or warehouse setting.
  • 2+ years' experience managing and developing a team
  • Fluency in both English and Spanish, written and spoken, required.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting and successfully resolving employee relations matters, coaching managers, and navigating workplace challenges with professionalism and discretion.
  • Effective conflict resolution skills with a focus on preserving and strengthening relationships.
  • Clear and concise written and verbal communication; excellent listener and relationship builder.
  • Critical thinker with excellent troubleshooting and data analysis skills; meticulous attention to detail and follow through.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality, sound judgment, impeccable discretion, and sensitivity in complex situations.
  • Demonstrated ability to research, organize and analyze complex information and situations.

  • Familiarity with local, state, and federal employment laws and compliance preferred.
  • College degree or equivalent experience preferred but not required.
  • SHRM, HRCI or similar certification preferred but not required.
