Principal Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Maintain annual Salary Administration Guidelines.
  • Assists in the design and administration of variable pay programs, including management incentives.
  • Serves as a consultant to managers and HR team members on compensation and benefit related topics.
  • Presents training for compensation and benefit related topics and tools.
  • Researches best compensation and benefit practices, regulations and compliances; provides analysis and recommendations.
  • Participates in professional, external compensation and benefit surveys.
  • Responds to escalated compensation and benefit inquiries from employees and leaders.
  • Collaborates with leadership and vendors to coordinate, develop, and maintain compensation and benefit programs.
  • Administers the annual open enrollment process.
  • Collaborates with leadership on the development and distribution of effective communication and training materials to ensure awareness of benefit program updates and opportunities.
  • Maintains benefit processes and employee records in HRIS.
  • Verifies accuracy of payroll deductions and benefits-related data.
  • Produces and analyzes metrics and reports to provide information on benefit utilization and cost.
  • Evaluates the cost impact of changes to base pay rates, incentive programs, or benefits packages.
  • Acts as a lead and provides coaching and or mentoring to entry level team members.


Knowledge, Skills, Abilities (KSAs), & Competencies:

Essential KSAs:
  • Bachelor's Degree in related field and five years' experience in corporate compensation and benefits.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to problem solve and work through complex issues.
  • Strong presentation skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Knowledge of government regulations as they apply to benefits and retirement programs.


Desirable KSAs:
  • HRIS experience
  • Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) Certification
  • Certified Employee Benefits Specialist (CEBS) Certification

Physical Demands and Working Conditions:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands/fingers to handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch; and talk or hear. The employee is also required to use a telephone with headset for verbal troubleshooting, frequent use of a standard keyboard and computer to document calls in a ticketing system, and occasional use of other office equipment. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move more than 30 pounds. The employee is occasionally required to sit for long periods and use close and color vision. Work is typically performed in a moderately noisy business office.
