Overview

A Day in the Life of a Benefits Manager:

 

As a Liberty Military Housing Benefits Manager, will oversee the administration, and continuous improvement of Liberty’s employee benefits programs. This role will lead benefits operations in a multi-state environment, ensure compliance, and partner with leadership to deliver competitive, cost-effective offerings that support employee well-being and organizational objectives.

 

Your Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

                 

  • Manage end-to-end administration of Liberty’s medical, dental, vision, life, disability, and ancillary benefits programs
  • Lead the annual open enrollment process, including planning, communication, and execution
  • Serve as primary liaison with carriers and third-party administrators
  • Partner with senior leadership to evaluate annual premiums, plan design, and carrier/vendor changes
  • Analyze utilization, trends, and market data to recommend competitive and cost-effective solutions
  • Drive continuous improvement of benefits offerings aligned with organizational goals
  • Oversee and enhance Liberty’s wellness program, including participation strategy and vendor partnerships
  • Plan and coordinate wellness initiatives such as health fairs and employee engagement activities
  • Evaluate program effectiveness, participation metrics, and ROI to inform future strategy
  • Administer FMLA, state leaves, and other leave programs in compliance with applicable policies and federal, state, and local regulations
  • Ensure accurate tracking, documentation, and communication throughout the leave process
  • Oversee benefit premium collection and timely payment for employees on leave.
  • Oversee the administration and processing of life insurance, disability claims, and other benefit-related transactions
  • Ensure timely and accurate enrollment, changes, and terminations in benefits systems
  • Manage HSA and FSA programs, including vendor coordination, compliance, and employee education
  • Ensure proper administration in alignment with IRS regulations and plan documents
  • Maintain compliance with ERISA, ACA, HIPAA, COBRA, and other applicable regulations
  • Oversee required reporting, disclosures, and audits related to benefits programs
  • Ensure documentation and internal processes meet legal and regulatory standards
  • Manage and develop one team member responsible for day-to-day benefits operations
  • Provide guidance, training, and oversight to ensure high-quality service delivery
  • Operate a company or personal vehicle to travel to various locations for work purposes.

What You Need for Success:

 

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience)• 7+ years of progressive experience in benefits administration and management, ideally with multi-state experience. • Proficiency in HRIS, benefits administration systems and MS Office Suite.• Strong working knowledge of health and welfare plans, leave management (FMLA), and compliance requirements• Experience managing HSA/FSA programs and wellness initiatives• Proven ability to partner with leadership on strategic benefits planning and vendor management• Experience analyzing benefits data, trends, and cost structures• Supervisory experience preferred• Certifications such as CEBS, CBP or SHRM a plus• Must have a valid driver’s license.

• Strong analytical and decision-making skills• High attention to detail and commitment to compliance• Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities• Ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution• Demonstrated experience managing confidential information with discretion

 

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • This position supervises 1 employee

Physical Requirements and working conditions:

  • Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.
  • Ability to travel to other regional locations for work, training, meetings and other work-related activities.
  • The position requires mobility within the office; use of a computer and other office machinery such as a scanner and copy machine.
  • Must be able to deal with a fast-paced, constantly changing work environment, including handling multiple tasks daily.
  • Ability to operate a company or personal vehicle or electrical cart.
  • Ability to independently lift/carry supplies or equipment up to 30 lbs.

 

Compensation Range : $125K- $135K Annually plus bonus.
