Full Job Description
Job Summary:

The HRO Benefits Coordinator works closely with the benefits consulting teams who help place employee benefit plans for our clients. We handle administration of these benefit plans including systems interactions, employee interactions and working closely with our clients to be sure their benefit plan administration runs smoothly.
• Collaborates on various benefits plans for various clients including medical, prescription drug, dental, vision, life insurance, short and long-term disability, flexible spending accounts, wellness plans, and retirement plans.
• Answers questions and provides information and assistance regarding benefits and related human resources programs, plans, policies, procedures, rules, and regulations in a timely manner.
• Provides solutions to improve services, implements processes, and partners with HRIS, Audit and Payroll in support of best practices.
• Manages the maintenance and storage of employee benefit records, ensures accurate employee data entry in HRIS/Ben Admin system related to benefits administration.
• Researches complex benefit issues for clients and provides reporting and analytics on the impacts of these issues.
• Coordinates and corresponds with various internal and external contacts, such as benefit carriers, employees, HR department, and clients.
• Reviews communications on new plans and policies and communicates new plans, policies, as required to employees and HR.
• Performs financial reporting related to the benefits programs.
• Oversees the benefit open enrollment process, including scheduling and conducting open enrollment and change meetings; preparing materials; supervising the input, audit, company notification, and employee confirmation of changes.
• Completes and prepares various reports; prepares, maintains, and disseminates information and documents as appropriate and necessary.
• Leads client group meetings; stays abreast of new trends and innovations in the field of benefit administration.
• Acts as the expert on all benefit and related human resources programs, plans, policies, procedures, rules, and regulations. Answers employee questions and concerns and ensure all claims are resolved accurately.
• Prepares correspondence, memos and presentations as they relate to benefit programs.
• Exercises judgment and discretion in seeking advice to ensure compliance with federal laws and state laws, such as ERISA, HIPAA, COBRA.
• Resolves benefit and claims issues.
• Develops, implements and administers client wellness strategies and programs.
• Performs other duties as required.

Requirements:
• 7 or more years of professional experience in benefits administration.
• A Bachelor's Degree, or equivalent experience, is required.
• HR Certification preferred, i.e. PHR/SPHR, SHRM CP/SCP, CBP.
• Strong knowledge of HRIS/benefits administration systems, with know.
• Expert in Healthcare Reform.
• Experience in completing root cause analysis of system errors, ability to understand the way data flows, organizational structure in systems.
• Familiarity with carrier administration systems (i.e. BCBS, UHC, CIGNA, Delta, Aetna) and ability to trace a disconnect between the Ben Admin system and the carrier.
• Advanced knowledge of benefit specific guidelines of DOL, IRS, ERISA, HIPAA and ACA.
• Ability to coordinate the day-to-day operations of employee benefit plans and programs including flexible benefits programs, group medical and life insurance plans, disability programs including FMLA administration, retirement plan
• General knowledge of Time and Attendance and payroll systems
• Work under steady pressure with frequent interruptions and a high degree of contact by phone or in person.
• Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive, confidential information and situations with tact and diplomacy, maintaining the highest level of confidentiality, discretion, and professionalism on all matters.
• Strong analytical skills, with the ability to use data and metrics to guide decision-making.
• Able to manage time, project deliverables, and deadlines with limited supervision.
• Ability to interface with company leaders and represent the company in a professional manner.
• Self-directed, works with minimal supervision.
• Legal right to work in the United States.
• On a very rare occasion, may need to be able to pass drug screening and answer any applicable COVID-19 questionnaire based on client needs. This would be at no cost to you and would be based on acceptable testing guidelines as provided by recommendations from the DOL, EEOC, ADA and CDC both at the State and Federal level for business necessity.
