Job Description

Salary: $90,000 - $100,000 Annually

The YMCA of Greater New York Association Office is seeking a Benefit, Compensation & HRIS Manager who will provide solid analytical, technical, and consultative support Associate-wide, ensuring accurate processing, timely crisis resolution, the creation/generation of various reports, and regulatory compliance. The Benefit, Compensation & HRIS Manager will serve as the primary contact for all benefit and compensation administration inquiries, report requests, and onboarding procedures and policies, and will also be responsible for the HRIS.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field or equivalent work experience required. Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources Management preferred.
  • PHR or SPHR designation desired but not essential.
  • Five (5+) years of solid Human Resources experience, with strong knowledge of benefits and compensation plan administration, and of ERISA, FLSA, and/or Department of Labor regulations, required. Eight (8+) years of Human Resources experience is desired but not essential.
  • HRIS experience required. Experience with Workday is a plus.
  • Knowledge of Excel (i.e., VLOOKUP, pivot tables, etc.).
  • Knowledge of ERISA, FLSA, Affordable Care Act (ACA), vendor negotiations, and various benefit plan designs.
  • Knowledge and experience in providing strong customer service is a must.
  • Must be detail-oriented and have the ability to multitask.
  • This is a hybrid position with three (3) in-office days required.


Essential Functions

  • Responsible for the HRIS; provides guidance to all branch HR Coordinators and Association Office staff on the Human Resources and Benefit modules. This includes report creation and generation (ad hoc), ongoing procedural guide creation and updates, various element testing (both HR and Payroll), and implementation. Includes training all levels of staff on the system.
  • Primary contact for all health and welfare plan administration and guidance. Subject-matter expert on the Affordable Care Act (ACA).
  • Responsible for customizing and managing file interfaces with vendors and insurance carriers, ensuring accurate plan enrollments, reconciliations, and timely COBRA notifications.
  • Assist Retirees and COBRA participants with various benefit plan inquiries.
  • Serve as the primary contact for all staff regarding Leave requests (FMLA, Disability, PFL, Prenatal, Personal, etc.), which includes maintaining, tracking, and managing disability/leave files/records.
  • Work with the Senior Executive of Benefits & Compensation to manage the annual Open Enrollment process, including creating and distributing communications and creating, testing, and implementing changes in the HRIS.
  • Work with the Senior Executive of Benefits & Compensation to maintain and manage the YMCA Retirement Fund (YERDI) system, including conducting monthly audits and serving as the point of contact for all plan questions.
  • Assist in the administration of the Salary Administration Plan, including grading all Association positions, answering compensation questions, and supporting the annual exempt and non-exempt compensation process. Includes compiling and analyzing year-end compensation data upon request from senior management.
  • Administration of the Incentive Pay program, which includes monitoring eligibility, staff communications, and ensuring payments are processed in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Responsible for managing PTO accruals in the HRIS. This includes providing guidance to all staff on eligibility and proper calculations.
  • Manage all Qualified Domestic Orders, Qualified Medical Orders, Unemployment Insurance claim questionnaires, and employment verifications.
  • Work with the Senior Executive of Benefits & Compensation on special projects as requested by various department heads/branches (i.e., national Y directory, EEO-1 reporting, headcounts, etc.).
  • Handle ad-hoc projects as requested.
  • Responsible for supervising one Coordinator.
