Full Job Description
Overview of Position

As part of the Total Rewards & Wellbeing team, this role supports the governance, compliance, analysis, and operational execution of Assurant's benefits programs, with primary focus on health and welfare benefits, regulatory requirements, vendor administration, financial tracking, and program reporting. The role helps strengthen compliance readiness, improve data quality, support informed decision-making, and enable efficient program management across the Benefits function.

Benefits Compliance, Governance & Risk Management - 40%
  • Maintain the U.S. benefits compliance calendar, trackers, and supporting documentation to enable timely execution, oversight, and audit readiness.
  • Coordinate recurring compliance deliverables, including Form 5500 filings, nondiscrimination testing, ACA reporting support, RxDC submissions, Gag Clause attestations, required notices and disclosures, retiree life administration, and adoption assistance program activities.
  • Support Mental Health Parity (MHPAEA) testing and related compliance reviews by organizing data requests, tracking deliverables, and coordinating inputs across vendors, consultants, internal stakeholders, and legal counsel.
  • Track completion of compliance activities performed by vendors, PEC, and internal partners to strengthen governance, documentation, and risk management routines.
  • Support vendor risk assessments, compliance documentation, contract reviews, and governance requirements for new and renewing vendor relationships.


Data Analytics, Reporting & Insights - 30%
  • Identify trends, risks, emerging issues, and opportunities that inform benefits recommendations, program improvements, and leadership discussions.
  • Support development of leadership presentations, benchmarking analyses, financial reviews, and executive reporting materials.
  • Improve confidence in benefits reporting through quality assurance, reconciliation, documentation, and validation activities.


Financial Tracking & Vendor Administration - 15%
  • Track benefits program expenses, budgets, invoices, credits, and financial commitments to support budget discipline and financial visibility.
  • Maintain spend tracking and reporting tools that support Finance reviews, forecasts, accruals, and budgeting activities.
  • Identify variances, discrepancies, missing invoices, and cost drivers for follow-up, resolution, and leadership review.
  • Support vendor governance activities, including documentation, business review preparation, performance tracking, and action item management.


Project Coordination, M&A & Operational Support - 15%
  • Support benefit-related projects, including Open Enrollment, M&A due diligence and integration activities, system enhancements, vendor implementations, and special initiatives.
  • Develop and maintain SOPs, process documentation, trackers, project plans, and governance materials to improve consistency and operational effectiveness.
  • Coordinate data requests, meeting materials, action logs, and recurring reporting to keep Benefits initiatives organized and moving forward.
  • Support cross-functional initiatives involving HR, Finance, Legal, Procurement, HR Technology, PEC, consultants, and vendors.


Travel is less than 5%

What are the requirements needed for this position?
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in benefits administration, total rewards, compensation & benefits, or related HR analytical roles.

  • Strong analytical skills with a keen eye for detail.
  • Ability to prioritize and execute tasks under tight deadlines.
  • Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.


What other skills/experience would be helpful to have?
  • Familiarity with Workday and ADP.
  • Vendor management experience.


Pay Range:
$64,900.00 - $108,200.00

Any posted pay range considers a wide range of compensation factors, including candidate background, experience and work location, while also allowing for salary growth within the position.
