The Benefits Administrator acts as a Subject Matter Expert on MyEyeDr.'s Benefit and Leaves of Absence programs and serves as primary point of contact for employees on matters related to Leave of Absence (LOA) . This is a full-time role reporting to the Sr. Manager, Benefits
The Benefits Administrator handles all employee emails related to leave of absence and day-to-day or routine tasks with little oversight or guidance and acts as a first level advisor on complex or non-routine tasks. This position requires a highly organized team player with a high attention to detail, who exhibits exemplary follow-through and problem-solving skills, and who continually seeks and implements process improvement. The Benefits Administrator will work both independently and within the Human Resources team.
This is a hybrid remote role, offering a flexible work arrangement out of our Vienna , VA office , with an in-office requirement of two days per week .
The hiring range for this position is $ 85,600 to $ 94,000 annually, exclusive of benefits or bonuses (discretionary and non-discretionary), based on experience and proximity to the Vienna Home Office.
You Will
- Regularly interacts with vendors to ensure administration of Benefi ts and Leaves of Absence programs is prompt and compliant.
- Analyzes routine and complex LOA requests in accordance with company policy and applicable laws and facilitates an effective leave management program.
- Coordinates with applicable parties (vendors, internal payroll, human resource partners, legal) to effectively administer benefit and LOA processes.
- Responds to non-routine inquiries from management and employees regarding benefits in a customer-focused, timely manner.
- Stays current on laws, case law, regulations and legal precedents relating to LOA and benefits . In partnership with legal, ensures company leave-related policies and guidelines follow local, state, and federal regulations.
- Serves as subject matter expert for Benefit and LOA administration. Provides guidance and education to managers, employees, and human resource partners.
- Responsible for managing shared inbox(es) that receives employee questions regarding primarily LOA and benefits.
- May be responsible for assisting with general benefit inquiries during peak volumes (annual open enrollment, etc.) . This will require engaging with human resource partners, legal, employees and management to ensure compliance with applicable polices and legal requirements.
About You
- Bachelor's degree in human resources or related field or the equivalent combination of education and training
- Minimum of 3 years of experience with benefits administration, specifically leave of absence administration.
- Strong knowledge of benefits and LOA interactive process with employees , including FMLA, ADA, PWFA and other state-specific legislation.
- Ability to accurately read and interpret regulations and statutes
- Organizational skills including the ability to prioritize work and handle multiple tasks simultaneously and under pressure
- Demonstrated ability to treat confidential matters with appropriate discretion
- Proven ability to solve difficult problems and overcome conflict situations with effective solutions
- Ability to effectively collaborate with human resource partners, management, legal and employees while providing excellent customer service to all internal and external stakeholders
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail
- Strong knowledge of MS programs including Word and Excel, as well as an ability to quickly learn new software programs
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
