Behavioral Health Specialist - 74025 - Kapolei, Hawaii

LOCATION

  • Hawaii Army National Guard
  • 91-1227 Enterprise Avenue BLDG 46 Kapolei Hawaii 96707 United States


HOURS/SCHEDULE

  • 40 hours a week, Mon-Fri
  • 8:00am-4:30pm
  • One Saturday a month from 8am-12pm for drill/weekend training. During the weeks where there is drill, you will adjust your hours during the week, not to exceed 40 hours/week.


REQUIREMENTS:

  • Education: Master's of Social Work degree from an educational institution accredited by the Council on Social Work (CSWE), or PhD or PsyD from an educational institution accredited by the American Psychological Association (APA).
  • Experience: Preferred - two (2) years' experience withknowledge of military culture and experience collaborating with social service agencies to integrate resources, plan, and deliver comprehensive service.
  • Licensure: Must possess a valid license in the State of Hawaii as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW). Behavior Health Specialist may also be a Licensed Clinical Psychologist (PhD or PsyD). from an educational institution accredited by the American Psychological Association (APA)


SUMMARY:

  • The Behavioral Health Specialist works directly with the guard members to prepare and maintain their mental fitness and wellness for operational readiness. Responsible for resolving any behavioral health concerns and creating treatment plans.
  • Must be comfortable working with individuals with suicidal ideations and/or working with individuals in life threatening situations (harm to themselves or others).
  • Providing preventative and support services to improve psychological health of the service members.
  • Identifying and resolving Soldiers' behavioral health concerns
  • You would be performing the initial and follow-up screenings and evaluations - determining if the guard members are fit for deployment
  • If they have any behavioral health concerns you would be determining a provisional diagnosis and formulating the appropriate treatment plan.
  • Assist in the development of a Creative Action Plan and appropriate treatment plan to promote psychological health and wellness and the promotion of counseling and treatment services
  • Providing accurate clinical assessments of their mental and emotional health and stability, clinical case management, intervention plans, referrals, and monitoring of clinical progress and resolution dates - must be comfortable working with individuals with suicidal ideations and/or working with individuals in life threatening situations (harm to themselves or others).
  • Responsible for maintaining applicable spreadsheets, schedules, appointments, archiving documents, and turning in all reports to the military supervisors
  • There are physicians' assistants, psychological health coordinators, and case managers who all work together to coordinate care and to maintain a 98% medical readiness at all times
  • Facilitate the prevention and education of mental health issues, early intervention, crisis response and post-incident recovery.
  • Maintain applicable spreadsheets, schedules, appointments, archiving documents, and manage routine correspondence.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel and is familiar with the use of MODS and MEDCHART systems.
  • Deliver clinical paperwork, including entries into BHDP, eCase, eProfile updates, Standard Form 600
  • Maintain a case management case load of no more than 300 Soldiers at any given time.
  • Provides technical expertise towards identifying, evaluating, resourcing, monitoring, and determining dispositions for service members
  • Supports mental fitness and wellness for operational readiness and work with the State Surgeons' Office to develop and maintain systems for identifying and resolving soldiers' behavioral health concerns
  • the Behavioral Health Specialist works directly with the guard members to prepare and maintain their medical readiness. Duties include performing screenings/evaluations, determining if they are fit for deployment, determining a diagnosis, formulating treatment plans, providing case management, and monitoring progress.   • Provide group and individual psychoeducation and short term resolutions for HIARNG service members and their families.• Provide any necessary mental health assessments for service members.• Participate in community and military committees to provide input and obtain relevant information relating to the psychological health of HIARNG service members and their families.• Coordinate and facilitate resources to improve and sustain the psychological health of service members.
