Position InformationExaminations: Appraisal (Weight 100%): Will be conducted for the purpose of evaluating the applicant's training, education, experience, interest and personal fitness for the position. Appraisal can be based on any combination of the following: Investigation, oral exam and/or rating of the application.
Applicants must attain at least 70% score on each phase of the examination process.
Minimum Qualifications/Employment Standards:OPTION I: ADMINISTRATIVE AND FISCAL SERVICESGraduation from an accredited college or university with a Master's degree in public or business administration, or a closely related field AND six (6) years of management level experience in a multi-divisional public, private or nonprofit agency in which the applicant has acquired the ability to plan, evaluate, administer and manage a variety of responsibilities or operations involving large expenditure of funds.
OPTION II: CLINICAL SERVICESCompletion of a Doctorate degree from an accredited college or university with a major in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or a related behavioral or social science field; AND one (1) year paid experience as an administrator or supervisor of a mental health program; AND appropriate licensure in the State of California as a mental health professional.
ORCompletion of a Master's degree from an accredited college or university with a major in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or a related behavioral or social science field; AND three (3) years paid experience as an administrator or supervisor of a mental health program; AND appropriate licensure in the State of California as a mental health professional.
ORCompletion of a Master's Degree from an accredited college or university with a major in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or a related behavioral or social science field; AND registered with the State of California as an Associate Clinical Social Worker, Marriage and Family Therapist Intern or Pre-Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor AND four (4) years paid experience as an administrator or supervisor of a mental health program; A California license as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) or Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) must be obtained within six (6) years of initial registration. Failure to maintain a current and valid registration may result in disciplinary action, up to and including termination.
Full Job Description: SupplementalAdmittance to the examination will require a valid government issued photograph identification. Applicants who are unable to present proper identification must make arrangements with the Human Resources Division prior to the test date.
Examination components for promotional testing will be administered during the scheduled date/time/location without exception.
A background check may be conducted for this classification.
Following an offer of employment, you may be required to submit to post offer medical and drug screening tests at County expense.
This examination will establish an eligible list from which immediate appointment(s) will be made. Other permanent and temporary appointments will be made as needed. Successful candidates will remain on the eligible list for a period of twelve-months, unless specified otherwise by the Civil Service Commission. Candidates are encouraged to indicate acceptable geographical locations in which they would accept employment on their application form.
