Full Job Description
Title of Position:

Location:

This is a District-Wide position, you may be assigned at multiple school buildings within the district.

Work Year:

2026-2027 School Year

189 Work Days

Salary:

$80,000 - $90,000 per year

Organizational Relationship or Line of Authority:

Reports to the Executive Director of Special Education, and through him/her the Building Principals.

General Responsibilities:

The BCBA specialist will be the individual who works with classroom teachers, specialists and support staff to assist in developing, implementing and monitoring behavioral and educational IEP goals with students who are on the autism spectrum and/or have behavioral challenges.

Statement of Duties:
  • Assist teachers in writing and implementing educational programs for students on the autism spectrum and/or have behavioral challenges
  • Write behavioral programs based on a functional behavioral assessment to determine the function of behavior noted
  • Research and implement specific behavior analytic curriculum models that have been shown to provide favorable outcomes for children on the autism spectrum, and/or have behavioral challenges
  • Develop training programs and professional development opportunities for teachers and support staff addressing characteristics of and working with students on the autism spectrum and/or have behavioral challenges, including, but not limited to training and PD for teachers and support staff in ABA, teachers relative to the ABLLS and also assisting with administration of the ABLLS.
  • Assist in the administration of the ABLLS, as needed
  • Develop professional development activities for teachers and support staff relative to ABA, as well as other approaches
  • Work with teachers in the writing of programs, development of data sheets, and the graphing and analysis of data
  • Work with teachers to develop models and programs that can coordinate the school/home component of the learning plans
  • Work with teachers to develop appropriate reports relative to student progress related to student data
  • Complete assessments as needed
  • Collaborate with colleagues and administration to improve programs and procedures
  • Any other reasonable duties assigned by supervisor

Qualifications:
  • Qualified as a Board Certified Behavior Analyst [BCBA credentials]
  • Master's degree required
  • Bilingual (Spanish or Portuguese) preferred
  • Licensed by the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education in Special Education preferred


Abilities:
  • Technology Use - School System Data base, standard Microsoft and Google products and web-based sites.
  • Written and Oral Comprehension and Expression - Read and understand information in writing and listen to and understand spoken information and ideas. Able to communicate information and ideas in speaking and writing so others will understand.
