Role Overview

Kodak is looking for a Battery Coating Division Manager to join our Advanced Materials and Chemicals (AMC) team located in Rochester, NY. This is an exciting opportunity to be at the forefront of Kodak's transition into the rapidly expanding lithium-ion battery market. Come join us and be part of the transformation to clean energy!

This position of Division Manager will be the leadership role responsible for all activities associated with the start-up and ongoing manufacturing of battery products on the Battery Production Coating machine. In this role, the incumbent will be accountable for setting and achieving production targets while effectively and efficiently managing operations that include production scheduling, material management, maintenance, quality, engineering, HSE, and production. This role is responsible for aligning with strategic priorities, planning, organizing, and managing all manufacturing-related functions to achieve the highest levels of quality and customer service in a safe, efficient and timely manner utilizing proven lean and continuous improvement techniques to ensure the achievement of business goals.

Responsibilities:
1. Through joint consideration and planning, determine and establish long-range and short-term operations objectives which are consistent with existing sales, projected forecasts, inventory requirements, and other related factors involved in the manufacturing process. Ensure management processes and Operational processes are adhered to.
2. Regularly assess talent with the objective being to utilize personnel in the best manner to attain company-wide goals and meet agreed targets. Effectively execute work in a matrixed organization, managing resources that flex from sister organizations in IFC.
3. Recruit, develop and motivate direct reporting staff, conduct hands-on training and development of staff.
4. Plan and develop manufacturing schedules based on available labor, workforce capabilities, machine and materials availability, tooling requirements, and manufacturing capacities. Develop and implement monthly production plans to meet or exceed targets and manage the monthly objectives for all direct operations personnel. Manage schedules for all jobs to meet quoted lead times and provide feedback on available lead times for quotation purposes. Communicate plans to meet master production schedule with appropriate personnel.
5. Primary interface with customer on demand, supply, and technical issues.
6. Work jointly with Engineering, Purchasing, Quality, Finance, and Supply Chain Departments to ensure efficient and optimal use of resources to deliver on business objective.
7. Maintain close involvement in all the various operational functions through the analysis of reports, holding supervisory meetings, policy revision/enforcement, general observations, and personal contacts to ensure the positive coordination and integration of work flow, timely production, budgetary conformance, schedule compliance, proper utilization of manufacturing personnel, skills utilization, machine capabilities and capacities, equipment and facilities. Maintain close communication with IFC and AMC management regarding operational status and requirements.
8. Track efficiency through corporate KPI's and lead continuous improvement initiatives.
9. Coordinate and direct major acquisition and installation capital equipment projects, plant layout changes, major repairs and overhauls, etc. which are in the best short and long term economic advantage to the Company.
10. Oversee and coordinate various programs which are essential to operations such as employee training, HSE, OSHA compliance, EPA compliance, ISO, work standards, engineering improvements, cost reduction, input on wage and salary related matters, housekeeping, etc.

Required Skills/Experience:
• B.S. Degree in Business Administration, Industrial Management, Engineering, or the equivalent. MBA or equivalent experience desired.
• Minimum of 10 years' experience managing operations with exposure to Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement or other formal productivity improvement programs and ISO9001 (Lean Six Sigma Blackbelt or Greenbelt preferred).
• Individual should possess sound people-oriented management skills with a proven ability to motivate and lead individuals.
• Must possess a strong analytical ability. Individual should have a participative management philosophy; one who advocates a team concept.
• Must possess excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Must be results-oriented and strive to achieve cost efficiency and have demonstrated ability to manage budgets, improve operations and achieve bottom-line results.
• Able to operate at all levels as needed. Demonstrated desire to do "what it takes" to grow the business including performing tasks when needed that would normally be delegated.
• Strong systems background in project management, scheduling, inventory management and general accounting, and experience and competency using all Microsoft Office applications.
