We are seeking a highly skilled and communicative Virtual Desktop Engineer with deep expertise in Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) to lead the transition from Citrix to AVD across our enterprise. This role will be instrumental in designing, deploying, and maintaining AVD environments both on Azure and on-premises, with a strong emphasis on collaboration, leadership, and global scalability.

Required Skills & Experience- 8+ years of experience in virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI), including Citrix and AVD.
- Proven experience rolling out AVD in large enterprise environments (1,000+ sessions).
- Strong hands-on experience with Nerdio for AVD deployment, automation, and lifecycle management.
- Deep understanding of Azure fundamentals, including networking, identity, and security.
- Experience with Citrix environments and migration strategies to AVD.
- Ability to architect and deliver solutions on Azure Local and hybrid infrastructure.
- Strong communication skills; able to lead presentations and enterprise-level discussions.
- Experience working with DevOps teams and agile methodologies (e.g., 2-week sprints).
- Ability to document technical processes and communicate with cross-functional teams.
- Experience supporting global deployments across Canada and the US.
