Job Details

This role is in support of Cencora's veterinary and livestock production solutions marketed through our MWI Animal Health - MICRO Technologies business. MWI Animal Health is a leading brand of Cencora, offering animal health services globally.

The Infrastructure Engineering Manager serves as the technical and operational leader for MICRO's infrastructure environment, providing strategic leadership, technical direction, and day-to-day management across cloud, on-premise, and customer-facing operational systems.

This role acts as the primary liaison between MICRO and Cencora IT teams for compliance, planning, infrastructure initiatives, security coordination, and enterprise rollouts.

The position is responsible for leading infrastructure strategy and overseeing engineering resources that support MICRO's proprietary software platforms, including Accu-Trac, ProControl, and Stocker1, with a strong emphasis on Linux-based systems, Azure infrastructure, network stability, business continuity, disaster recovery readiness, and operational resilience.

This role includes direct leadership responsibility for infrastructure engineering personnel, including Azure and field/customer-facing engineering resources.

Core Responsibilities
Leadership & Strategic Oversight
  • Lead and manage infrastructure engineering personnel, including cloud engineering and field/customer-facing engineering resources
  • Provide technical leadership, direction, prioritization, coaching, and performance management for direct reports
  • Serve as the technical liaison between MICRO and parent company IT teams for compliance, planning, governance, and enterprise initiatives
  • Provide infrastructure, security, performance, and stability reporting to upper management and executive leadership
  • Support product and engineering teams across Accu-Trac, ProControl, and Stocker1 with infrastructure planning and technical strategy
  • Coordinate infrastructure support for product deployments, customer implementations, upgrades, and business-critical operational initiatives
  • Contribute to business continuity, disaster recovery, backup, and resiliency planning
  • Research and recommend innovative and scalable infrastructure solutions that improve operational efficiency and long-term supportability
Infrastructure Engineering & Technical Oversight
  • Provide leadership and architectural oversight for Linux and Windows infrastructure environments, with strong emphasis on Linux and Ubuntu platforms
  • Spearhead initiatives to improve system stability, security posture, lifecycle management, and supported-version compliance
  • Oversee Azure infrastructure strategy, performance, availability, monitoring, and operational readiness
  • Coordinate system, server, storage, and network engineering activities across both cloud and on-premise environments
  • Provide guidance for server provisioning, rebuilds, upgrades, hardware lifecycle planning, and infrastructure standards
  • Establish and maintain infrastructure standards, installation procedures, and operational documentation
  • Support networking and connectivity initiatives required for customer deployments and internal systems
  • Provide technical leadership for server, hardware, virtualization, and cloud solution decisions
Operations & Support Oversight
  • Oversee daily monitoring of infrastructure health, availability, backup integrity, system logs, and scheduled operational jobs
  • Ensure regular security monitoring and incident coordination processes are followed
  • Manage Tier III escalation support and complex incident resolution across infrastructure and application environments
  • Coordinate recovery efforts for hardware, software, and infrastructure failures
  • Oversee account access management and administrative controls
  • Coordinate archival, retention, purge, and backup recovery processes
Maintenance, Security & Performance
  • Manage infrastructure patching strategy and ensure OS, security, and platform upgrades are completed on schedule
  • Participate in security governance, risk review, and infrastructure compliance meetings
  • Oversee performance reporting, capacity planning, and resource optimization
  • Lead infrastructure tuning initiatives involving CPU, memory, storage, and cloud resource utilization
  • Coordinate lifecycle management of infrastructure software, operating systems, and supporting platforms
  • Oversee Azure data center, monitoring, alerting, and environmental controls


Experience & Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Information Systems, Computer Science, or related technical field
    or
  • Equivalent combination of education and 4 years of progressive technical experience
  • Prior leadership or management experience preferred
  • Strong hands-on experience with Linux systems administration, preferably Ubuntu
  • Working knowledge of Windows Server environments
  • Experience with Azure cloud infrastructure and operational support
  • Strong understanding of networking concepts, best practices, and infrastructure troubleshooting
  • Experience with hardware, server lifecycle management, and enterprise support environments
  • Experience supporting production software environments preferred

*This Salary Range reflects a National Average for this job. The actual range may vary based on your locale. Ranges in Colorado/California/Washington/New York/Hawaii/Vermont/Minnesota/Massachusetts/Illinois State-specific locations may be up to 10% lower than the minimum salary range, and 12% higher than the maximum salary range.
