Position Description: We are seeking an experienced Intermediate Azure Cloud Specialist to join our dynamic team. As a key member of our cloud Operations team, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining our clients cloud infrastructure. Your expertise will ensure the availability, security, and performance of our cloud-based systems.
The Intermediate Cloud Specialist delivers cloud services across a multiple clients. With a focus on scalability, availability, automation, performance and security, you will work with client and internal teams to perform myriad activities related to Infrastructure as a Service as well as cloud-native services. Working with client and internal teams you will contribute to develop and deliver cloud-native solutions, leveraging your expertise in GCP, AWS, Azure, Terraform, scripting, coding, DevOps, CI/CD pipeline, Kubernetes, and other cloud technologies.
Your future duties and responsibilities:• Manage cloud infrastructure components, including compute, networking, storage, identity, and access management across multi-cloud environments.
• Provide expertise and leadership regarding Cloud for both infrastructure and applications primarily in Microsoft Azure, and knowledge in Amazon Web Services, or Google Cloud is an asset.
• Leverage Artificial intelligence to streamline processes, design smart workflows and automate tasks to speed up team work
• Monitor and optimize the performance of Cloud services, troubleshoot issues, and implement solutions to ensure optimal system functionality.
• Perform regular backups, disaster recovery planning, and ensure business continuity for critical applications and data.
• Implement and maintain security best practices, including identity and access management, encryption, and compliance standards.
• Automate routine operational tasks using scripting and configuration management tools.
• Solve exciting technical challenges by analyzing, troubleshooting, and designing vital services, platforms, and infrastructure while always thinking about reliability, scalability, resilience, security, and performance.
• Understand the end-to-end configuration, technical dependencies, and overall behavioral characteristics of the production services you collaborate with.
• Help build a Site Reliability Engineering culture across the organization by sharing your best practices, approaches, documentation, and code with other engineering teams.
• Document your system knowledge as you acquire it over time, create runbooks, and ensure critical system information is readily available to those who need it.
Required qualifications to be successful in this role: Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
Proven experience as a cloud specialist, with a focus on Azure, AWS and GCP cloud services.
Proven track record of leveraging AI tools and coding assistants (e.g., GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, Cursor) to accelerate technical workflows, automate routine tasks, and streamline problem-solving.
Strong proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform or similar tools.
Proficiency in at least one programming language (Python, Java, Go, etc.) and scripting languages (Bash, PowerShell, etc.).
Cloud certifications (e.g.,Azure Solutions Architect, GCP Solutions Architect, ...) are highly desirable.
Strong knowledge of Cloud services, including VMs, networking, storage, databases, and security.
Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform) is a plus.
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively under pressure.
Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work in cross-functional teams.
A minimum of 5 years of experience as a cloud specialist.
CGI is providing a reasonable estimate of the pay range for this role. The determination of this range includes factors such as skill set level, geographic market, experience and training, and licenses and certifications. Compensation decisions depend on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $60,000-$110,000. This role is an existing opportunity.
