We are currently seeking a AWS Infrastructure Developer III (Senior) to join our team in Fort Meade, Maryland (US-MD), United States (US).
Job Summary:The AWS Infrastructure Engineer supports our client by designing, implementing, and maintaining secure, scalable AWS cloud environments that host operational capabilities and mission data workflows. The role encompasses architecting AWS infrastructure, deploying and managing compute resources such as EC2, ECS, Fargate, and Lambda, and implementing robust networking constructs including VPC segmentation, Direct Connect, Transit Gateway, Route 53, NACLs, and security groups. The engineer leverages orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes or Nomad for containerized workload management and applies IAM best practices to enforce least privilege access across multi account environments. The position is responsible for troubleshooting performance, connectivity, and security issues, optimizing cloud operations, supporting hybrid cloud integrations, and ensuring compliance with AWS security frameworks and GovCloud/DoD requirements. The role requires regular collaboration with teammates, leadership, and customers-often including presentations-and may involve limited TDY travel in support of mission objectives.
Job Duties:- Design and implement AWS infrastructure architectures supporting operational capability hosting and data processing
- Deploy and manage AWS compute resources (EC2, ECS, Lambda) hosting operational capabilities and services
- Implement network segmentation, security groups, NACLs, and routing policies enforcing operational security requirements
- Leverage orchestration systems (Kubernetes, Nomad, or similar) for container and workload management
- Manage IAM policies, roles, and service control policies enforcing least-privilege access
- Troubleshoot infrastructure performance, connectivity, and security issues impacting operations
- Conduct limited TDY travel as mission requires
- Frequently communicates with co-workers, management, and customers, which may involve delivering presentations
Required Qualifications:- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related technical field (or equivalent experience)
- Education Equivalency:
- High School Diploma/GED with 13 years of IT experience
- Associate's degree with 11 years of IT experience
- Master's Degree with 7 years of IT experience
- PhD with 5 years of IT experience
- Minimum 9 years of general Information Technology experience
- Minimum 4 years of AWS infrastructure engineering experience
- Minimum 4 years of experience with AWS networking services including VPC, Direct Connect, Transit Gateway, Route 53
- Minimum 3 years of experience with Terraform for infrastructure-as-code implementation
- Minimum 2 years of experience with AWS compute services (EC2, ECS/Fargate, Lambda)
- Minimum 1 year of experience with orchestration systems outside AWS (Kubernetes, Nomad, Docker Swarm, or similar)
- Active TS/SCI with Polygraph
Preferred Qualifications:- Demonstrated experience implementing AWS security best practices and compliance frameworks
- AWS certifications (Solutions Architect Professional, Advanced Networking, Security Specialty)
- Experience with AWS GovCloud or DoD cloud environments
- Advanced Kubernetes experience (CKA/CKAD certification)
- Experience with hybrid cloud architectures connecting on-premises and cloud environments
- Experience with AWS Organizations, Control Tower, and multi-account strategies
NTT DATA provides a reasonable range of compensation for specific roles. The starting pay range for this role is $117,600 - $196,000. Actual compensation will depend on a number of factors, including the candidate's relevant experience, technical skills, and other qualifications. This position may also be eligible for incentive compensation based on individual and/or company performance. If the position offered in temporary, the position will not be eligible for incentive compensation.
