Position Description:

CGI is seeking an experienced AWS Cloud Architect to support the development and modernization of enterprise cloud solutions within a large scale financial services environment. This role will focus primarily on AWS and will provide technical leadership for cloud migrations, cloud native solutions, platform capabilities, and hybrid cloud environments.

The AWS Cloud Architect will work closely with enterprise and solution architecture teams, application development teams, infrastructure engineering, DevOps, data teams, and business stakeholders to define practical, scalable, resilient, and cost effective AWS solutions.

The ideal candidate brings deep AWS expertise and experience helping large enterprises modernize applications and infrastructure while establishing reusable cloud patterns and standards.

This role is located at a client site in either Plano, TX or Reston, VA. A hybrid working model is acceptable.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

. Define and guide AWS cloud architecture for enterprise applications, platforms, infrastructure, and modernization initiatives.
. Partner with application and infrastructure teams to plan and execute migrations from on premises environments to AWS.
. Develop and maintain reusable AWS reference architectures, cloud patterns, standards, and implementation guidance.
. Evaluate application and infrastructure requirements and recommend appropriate AWS services and deployment approaches.
. Support cloud native application strategies using containers, APIs, serverless technologies, and managed AWS services.
. Provide technical guidance for highly available, scalable, resilient, and cost effective AWS environments.
. Guide AWS networking, compute, storage, database, integration, identity, monitoring, and automation approaches.
. Support architecture reviews, technology evaluations, and application path to production activities.
. Partner with DevOps and engineering teams to promote infrastructure automation and Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
. Help teams apply AWS Well Architected Framework principles and enterprise cloud standards.
. Evaluate technical dependencies, risks, performance considerations, and cloud costs when recommending solutions.
. Collaborate across architecture, application development, infrastructure, operations, data, and governance teams.
. Clearly document and communicate technical recommendations, cloud patterns, and architecture decisions to technical and business stakeholders.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

. 8+ years of experience in enterprise infrastructure, application, or cloud technologies.
. 5+ years of hands on AWS experience, including enterprise scale cloud implementations and migrations.
. Strong knowledge of core AWS services across compute, storage, networking, databases, integration, identity, and monitoring.
. Experience developing AWS solutions for high availability, scalability, resiliency, performance, and cost optimization.
. Strong understanding of AWS networking, including VPCs, subnets, routing, load balancing, DNS, and connectivity to on premises environments.
. Experience with enterprise cloud migration and application modernization initiatives.
. Experience with Infrastructure as Code, preferably Terraform and/or AWS CloudFormation.
. Understanding of containers and orchestration technologies, including Docker, Amazon ECS, and/or Amazon EKS.
. Experience with cloud native and serverless AWS technologies such as Lambda, API Gateway, and managed AWS services.
. Knowledge of CI/CD, DevOps practices, and automated cloud deployments.
. Familiarity with AWS monitoring and observability capabilities, including CloudWatch and CloudTrail.
. Working knowledge of the AWS Well Architected Framework and cloud governance best practices.
. Ability to evaluate technical requirements and translate them into practical AWS solutions.
. Strong communication and documentation skills with the ability to work across engineering, architecture, operations, and business teams.

Desired Skillset:

. Experience working in a large scale financial services or other highly regulated enterprise environment.
. Experience with hybrid cloud environments and large scale data center to AWS migrations.
. Knowledge of Azure or GCP in addition to deep AWS expertise.
. Experience with Kubernetes and Amazon EKS.
. Experience with enterprise API and integration platforms.
. Familiarity with AWS cost management and FinOps practices.
. Experience supporting application modernization and cloud native transformation programs

Education:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or a related technical field, or equivalent professional experience.

The determination of this range includes various factors not limited to skill set, level, experience, relevant training, and licensure and certifications. To support the ability to reward for merit based performance, CGI typically does not hire individuals at or near the top of the range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range for this role in the U.S. is $127,500.00 $175,400.00.
