Full Job Description
Job Summary The AWS Architect will lead planning and execution of on-premise to AWS cloud migrations, coordinating cross-functional teams and ensuring migration scope, timelines, quality, security, and success criteria are achieved. The role will work closely with architects and engineers to ensure AWS landing zone readiness, validate environments, lead migration cutovers and post-migration activities, and support secure and compliant cloud adoption. Experience with AI, GPU environments, and AWS landing zones is required.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead planning and execution of on-premise to AWS cloud migrations across multiple migration waves.
• Coordinate application, infrastructure, security, network, data, and vendor teams throughout migration activities.
• Manage RAID items, including risks, assumptions, issues, and dependencies.
• Manage change control and provide executive reporting on migration progress and status.
• Partner with architects and engineers to ensure AWS landing zone readiness, including accounts, IAM, networking, security, logging, and monitoring.
• Validate environment readiness prior to migration and cutover.
• Plan and execute migration cutovers, rehearsals, go/no-go decisions, and rollback strategies.
• Lead post-migration hypercare activities and coordinate issue resolution.
• Support transition of migrated environments to steady-state operations.
• Ensure security, compliance, and audit requirements are maintained throughout the migration lifecycle.
Required Qualifications
• Experience with AWS cloud migration planning and execution.
• Strong understanding of AWS landing zone concepts and environment readiness.
• Experience working with AI and GPU environments.
• Experience coordinating cross-functional application, infrastructure, security, network, data, and vendor teams.
• Experience managing RAID, change control, migration cutovers, rehearsals, and rollback strategies.
• Experience with AWS accounts, IAM, networking, security, logging, and monitoring.
• Experience supporting post-migration hypercare and transition to steady-state operations.
• Understanding of security compliance and audit requirements within cloud migration environments.
