External Managers Department

We embrace an active investing approach for funds under external management to outperform public market benchmark indices.

What impact can you make in this role?

We seek a candidate to join our New York-based equities team as an Assistant Vice President / Vice President. You will be part of the GIC's internal investment function where we award investment directives to external fund managers whose ability complements our own capabilities. The Equities team in External Managers oversees equity hedge strategies and benchmark relative portfolios across various geographies globally.

You will be given the opportunity to partner with outstanding investment managers to capture market opportunities around the world. Our investment discussions reflect an outstanding flow of ideas and insights that can only come with our scale and reach. We also develop strategic relationships with the investment industry to benefit GIC at large.

What will you do as an Equities Portfolio Manager with External Managers?
  • Conduct fund manager due diligence, selection, monitoring, and portfolio construction.
  • Perform quantitative and qualitative analyses on investments, strategies, and market dynamics.
  • Diligence idiosyncratic or tactical market opportunities and co-investments.
  • Help manage portfolios of hedge fund and long-only managers, and source ideas from those exchanges.


What qualifications or skills should you possess in this role?
  • 5-12 years of equities experience in an analytical role, on the buy-side or sell-side, or similar.
  • Excellent analytical ability and intellectual curiosity.
  • Exceptional team player who is also comfortable working independently.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Strong academic credentials.

Compensation

Total pay for this position comprises base pay and bonus. The anticipated base salary range for this role is between $150,000 and $210,000. Bonuses, which may form a meaningful proportion of the total pay package, are determined based on company and individual performance.
