About This JobThe AVP/VP, Commercial Quality Control leads the first-line quality control (QC) function for Commercial Lending, spanning credit and operations review programs. This role owns the team, standards, and roadmap that keep loan boarding, loan maintenance, credit administration, and regulatory-driven reviews (HMDA, UCC, RegB, LAR, rate changes, and related programs) accurate, timely, and audit-ready.
AI is central to this role. The AVP/VP is responsible for transforming manual QC review programs into automated and AI-assisted review workflows, working directly with the team building those workflows in approved tooling (Claude, Claude Skills, Claude Code, and n8n), and for representing Commercial Quality Control in the bank's broader AI governance process. The role also leads a blended onshore and offshore team, and partners closely with Commercial Lending, Internal Audit, and Commercial Operations leadership.
Responsibilities:- Lead, develop, and manage a blended onshore and offshore Commercial Quality Control team, including hiring, performance management, and career development
- Own first-line QC review programs across Commercial Lending credit (HMDA, UCC, RegB/Flood, LAR, rate changes, CRR review) and operations (loan boarding, loan maintenance, money movement, PFC)
- Own and prioritize the CQC AI roadmap: identify manual review programs and checklists suited to automation or AI augmentation, and sponsor the build-out of automated and AI-assisted review workflows using approved tooling (Claude, Claude Skills, Claude Code, n8n)
- Partner with the analysts and associates building those automations to validate workflows against representative cases, calibrate the applicable human-review posture, and monitor ongoing automation and agent performance
- Represent Commercial Quality Control in the bank's AI governance process, ensuring AI-assisted review workflows meet model risk, audit, and approved-tool standards before and after deployment
- Own audit and examination coordination (2LOD/3LOD) for Commercial QC, including findings management, remediation plan design (system, process, and people/training), and on-time closure
- Own capacity planning, value-driver reporting, and SLA/KRI management across the QC function, including coordination with Commercial Centralized Operations reporting standards
Qualifications:- Bachelor's degree preferred; equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered
- 5+ years of experience in quality control, quality assurance, audit, or operations leadership within commercial lending or banking
- 3+ years of direct people management experience, including managing outsourced, offshore, or blended onshore/offshore teams
- Direct experience sponsoring or utilizing AI and automation tools (e.g., Claude, other GenAI platforms, or low-code/no-code automation solutions) in a quality, review, or operational environment
- Working knowledge of commercial lending regulatory and compliance requirements, including HMDA, UCC, Reg B, and Flood regulations
- Proven experience managing internal and external audit and examination relationships, including findings remediation and corrective action plans
- Strong analytical, written communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills
- Experience with AI governance, model risk management, or third-party risk frameworks within a regulated environment
- Hands-on familiarity with Claude, Claude Skills/Claude Code, comparable GenAI tools, and low-code automation platforms such as n8n
- Experience with commercial lending systems and platforms, such as LoanIQ, nCino, or similar solutions
- Experience with iGrafx or comparable process mapping, process improvement, and process governance methodologies
