Full Job Description
We are seeking a visionary technical engineering executive to lead the physical and financial evolution of our technical facility footprint. This role is responsible for the end-to-end management of our critical infrastructure, encompassing Technical Facility Engineering, Construction, Energy Management, and Equipment Installation. You will set the strategic direction for a high-performing organization, driving transformation, operational excellence, and sustainability while managing a multibillion-dollar portfolio.
What you'll be doing....
Strategic Leadership & Business Transformation
• Executive Strategy: Lead the long-term vision for the technical facility portfolio, aligning engineering roadmaps with business objectives, network evolution, and asset monetization strategies.
• Organizational Development: Lead a multi-layered organization across engineering, construction, and energy disciplines. Foster a culture of excellence, high performance, and continuous professional growth.
• Financial Stewardship: Accountable for +$500M Capex and +$1.5B Opex budgets (including energy management and capital infrastructure). Drive efficiency and operational savings through disciplined portfolio management.
• Portfolio Monetization: Collaborate with cross-functional teams including AI Enablement and Network Decommissioning to execute a multi-year strategy for technical facility monetization. This role focuses on driving portfolio efficiency and maximizing asset value through strategic operational planning.
Energy Management & Sustainability (Energy Portfolio)
• National Energy Roadmap: Define and execute the comprehensive energy strategy, optimizing utility rate management and power infrastructure frameworks (Buy vs. Build vs. Partner).
• Sustainability Integration: Manage Verizon's renewable energy portfolio, including the execution of Virtual Renewable Energy Purchase Agreements (REPAs) and ensuring alignment with corporate sustainability targets (ESG/TCFD).

• Energy Reliability: Oversee energy budget forecasting, portfolio hedging, and compliance with internal financial controls and environmental reporting standards.
Technical Facilities Engineering & Equipment (Engineering / Construction Portfolio)
• Equipment Engineering & Integration: Oversee the technical facilities equipment engineering (TFEE) lifecycle. Manage network equipment installation and engineering integration, ensuring seamless deployment of 5G, compute, and AI-enabled infrastructure.
• Construction & Infrastructure: Drive the design, construction, and maintenance of critical network facilities. Ensure infrastructure resiliency, reliability, and code compliance across the domestic and international portfolio.
Technical Facility Engineering and Installation (Network Engineering Portfolio)
• Engineering Design: Oversee the end-to-end facility engineering design process, ensuring all technical specifications meet long-term network requirements.
• Installation Standards: Establish and enforce rigorous equipment installation standards to maintain uniformity and quality across the facility portfolio.
• Site Reliability: Lead initiatives focused on improving site reliability and uptime through proactive engineering solutions and infrastructure hardening.
• Cross-functional Collaboration: Drive collaboration across engineering, construction, and network teams to ensure the successful delivery of complex infrastructure projects.
Forecasting, Engineering and Operations Support (Forecasting / Standards / Operations Support Portfolio)
• Forecasting: Oversee capacity planning, demand forecasting, and budget projections for all facility infrastructure and energy needs.
• Engineering and Operations Support: Provide technical guidance and operational support for facility systems, ensuring alignment with corporate standards and regulatory compliance.
• Standards: Develop and maintain rigorous engineering standards, operating procedures, and safety protocols to ensure consistency, reliability, and code compliance across all technical facilities.
Innovation & Operational Velocity
• Engineering Enablement: Champion the integration of AI-driven productivity tools and automation frameworks into engineering workflows.
• Operational Excellence: Establish unified operating models for technical facilities nationwide, ensuring standardized Technical Facility Engineering practices, building automation, and predictive maintenance.
What you need to have...
• Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, or related field) required; Master's degree (MS in Engineering or MBA) strongly preferred.
• Industry Experience: 15+ years of deep telecommunications, network infrastructure, or mission-critical data center experience.
• Leadership Breadth: 10+ years of experience leading multi-layered organization structures.
• Technical & Financial Acumen: Proven fluency in Power, Space, and Cooling (PSC) standards, Technical Facility Equipment Engineering & Installation, modern infrastructure automation, corporate finance, and risk management.

Where you'll be working
In this hybrid role, you'll have a defined work location that includes working from home and a minimum of three days per week in the office, which will be set by your manager. Employees are responsible for maintaining compliance with hybrid work policies.

The salary will vary depending on your location and confirmed job-related skills and experience. This is an incentive based position with the potential to earn more. For part-time roles, your compensation will be adjusted to reflect your hours.
The annual salary range for the location(s) listed on this job requisition based on a full-time schedule is: $211,000.00 - $367,000.00.
