Roles Summary/Purpose:Reporting to the SVP, Diversified & Value Platform Strategy & Network Operations, the
AVP, Diversified & Value Platform Strategy will support the development of long-term strategy and growth plans for the Diversified & Value Platform. As a member of the Platform Strategy team, this role will engage across the Business Strategy & Development (BS&D) function and play a role in support of M&A strategy, strategic partnerships and venture investments.
Essential Responsibilities:- Support BS&D and Diversified & Value Platform Leadership to identify and assess growth opportunities for the Diversified & Value Platform
- Partner with BS&D and Diversified & Value Platform leaders to continuously evolve the Diversified & Value Platform's long-term strategy
- Develop content to communicate strategy updates to Synchrony's Executive Leadership Team, Board of Directors, and other audiences
- Monitor the competitive landscape and industry trends relevant to the Diversified & Value Platform; research key developments and communicate implications to BS&D and Diversified & Value Platform leaders
- Collaborate with Diversified & Value Platform Portfolio teams to deliver special projects such as emerging trend research, portfolio strategy updates, and partner workshops
- Work with BS&D, Diversified & Value, and other cross-functional stakeholders to translate strategy recommendations into execution plans with associated business case
- Partner with M&A, Ventures and other stakeholders to identify and evaluate acquisition / partnership opportunities relevant to the Diversified & Value Platform
- Perform other duties and/or special projects as assigned
Qualifications/Requirements:- Bachelor's degree preferred with 5+ years' experience in financial services, fintech, or payments, or consulting or in lieu of a bachelor's degree, a high school diploma / GED and a minimum of 8 years of financial services, fintech or payments, or consulting
- 2+ year experience in management consulting, corporate strategy, strategic planning or other business strategy related roles
- 1+ years of experience in driving strategy around business growth including new lines of product, business offerings / new business opportunities. Accelerating growth within new lines of business.
- Proficient in the use of MS Office product suite with advanced experience with Excel and PowerPoint
- Demonstrated ability to lead problem solving for complex business issues and work with multiple stakeholders and viewpoints
- Experience in developing data-driven perspectives and presenting insights to business leaders
- Ability and flexibility to travel for business as required
Desired Characteristics:- Strategy consulting experience
- Experience in Financial Services, specifically consumer credit
- Strong quantitative skills with experience creating data-driven recommendations

Grade/Level: 11The salary range for this position is
90,000.00 - 155,000.00 USD Annual and is eligible for an annual bonus based on individual and company performance.
Actual compensation offered within the posted salary range will be based upon work experience, skill level or knowledge.
Salaries are adjusted according to market in CA, NY Metro and Seattle.

Eligibility Requirements:- You must be 18 years or older
- You must have a high school diploma or equivalent
- You must be willing to take a drug test, submit to a background investigation and submit fingerprints as part of the onboarding process
- You must be able to satisfy the requirements of Section 19 of the Federal Deposit Insurance Act.
- New hires (Level 4-7) must have 9 months of continuous service with the company before they are eligible to post on other roles. Once this new hire time in position requirement is met, the associate will have a minimum 6 months' time in position before they can post for future non-exempt roles. Employees, level 8 or greater, must have at least 18 months' time in position before they can post. All internal employees must consistently meet performance expectations and have approval from your manager to post (or the approval of your manager and HR if you don't meet the time in position or performance expectations).
