Are you a passionate leader with a talent for developing high-performing teams and delivering exceptional lending experiences? As our AVP, Mortgage Market Manager, you will lead a regional mortgage lending team, empowering Mortgage Lending Consultants and Representatives through coaching, mentorship, and strategic guidance. This role offers the opportunity to drive operational improvements, ensure compliance with lending regulations, and make a meaningful impact by helping members achieve their homeownership goals through a seamless and personalized mortgage experience.

What you'll be doing:

Dupaco Leadership:

  • Lead and manage daily departmental operations, aligning with strategic priorities and operational plans.
  • Provide coaching, mentoring, and performance management to ensure team engagement and effectiveness.
  • Develop and manage departmental budgets, including training and workforce expenses.
  • Foster collaborative relationships internally and externally through peer groups, industry organizations, and community involvement.
  • Monitor and respond to trends and insights from member and employee feedback channels.


Job Expectations:

  • Serve as the department subject matter expert for mortgage lending regulations, policies, procedures, risk mitigation practices, and operational controls.
  • Develop, monitor, and recommend updates to policies and procedures to ensure compliance and operational effectiveness.
  • Participate in or lead development of departmental strategic plans, goals, and initiatives.
  • Evaluate market trends and develop strategies to improve mortgage growth, operational effectiveness, and member experience.
  • Lead or participate in strategic and operational initiatives that improve efficiency, member experience, loan growth, compliance, or technology utilization.
  • Assist in training new employees on product knowledge, lending procedures and regulations, and cross selling skills.
  • Responsible for researching, understanding and implementing member preferences related to Mortgage Lending.
  • Maintain regular contact with members to resolve account problems as well as area attorneys, realtors, insurance agents, and others obtaining information.
  • Ensure compliance with all federal and state laws and regulations within the Mortgage Lending areas and make recommendations for improving effectiveness of policies and procedures as needed.
  • Supports mortgage loan growth for the credit union and assists in monitoring market share growth.
  • Assist in working with vendors that provide services for mortgage lending ensuring it meets vendor due diligence, service level agreements, and member experience.
  • Interview members applying for residential mortgage loans and explain the various mortgage programs and requirements.
  • Analyze the members' financial picture to determine if it meets minimum loan criteria established by the Credit Union.
  • Conduct closings with buyers, sellers, real estate agents, attorneys and others; and explains figures and charges to appropriate parties.
  • Utilize technology both to improve member experiences and maximize efficiencies.
  • Recognize member and potential member needs and cross-sell and educate them on appropriate credit union services.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
