Full Job Description
The AVP, Modeling Manager will be a key member of the Actuarial & Strategy actuarial modeling team, which serves the company by providing projections to support financial reporting requirements covering US GAAP, US Cash Flow Testing and Bermuda Economic Balance Sheet. The primary responsibility of the position will be maintaining the inforce cashflow production model, as well as leading a Team of actuarial associates and analysts. This role will oversee model governance activities including testing, managing, and reviewing model results and analysis. Additionally, this role will lead the development of new capabilities built upon the foundation of the cashflow model. As such, the ideal candidate will have significant experience and expert-level knowledge in modeling software, a thorough understanding of a variety of products and strong project management and communication skills. The position is expected to work closely with departments across the organization including Model Developers, Investments, and Capital.

This role will be based in our Nashville, TN office on a hybrid basis.

What You Will Do:
  • Maintain and advance the Company's cashflow projection model.
  • Lead and review model governance activities to ensure accuracy and compliance with model risk standards.
  • Building new model functionality into the existing reporting infrastructure.
  • Review and communicate results of model results.
  • Implement process improvement and automation.
  • Assist with design and onboarding of new deals within the model.
  • Develop new functionality to support profitability analysis and financial planning.
  • Support senior management on any ad-hoc requests such as stress testing, due diligence, etc.

What You Will Have:
  • 7+ years of progressively more responsible actuarial experience in Actuarial Liability Management, or equivalent experience in Life and Annuity products.
  • Undergraduate degree is required, preferably in actuarial science, mathematics, statistics, or related fields.
  • Experience managing a small team with the ability to mentor and develop Actuarial Staff.
  • Qualified Fellow of the Society of Actuaries or Institute of Actuaries (or equivalent) or career Associate.
  • Significant working experience with AXIS, or a similar actuarial modeling software.
  • Good analytical skills and ability to adopt a creative approach to solving complex process problems.
  • Strong project management and communication skills.
  • High degree of proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint and Word applications as well as experience with database and programming language.
  • Ability to work with Business Intelligence (BI) tools.
  • Ability to manage multiple resources and work assignments while meeting time commitments.

The base salary range for this role is listed below and will be commensurate with candidate experience. Pay ranges for candidates may differ based on the cost of labor in that location. In addition to base salary, all employees are eligible for an annual bonus based on company and individual performance as well as a generous benefits package.

Base Salary Range

$180,000-$200,000 USD
