Full Job Description
GENERAL SUMMARY:
The AVP, Sales Finance serves as a trusted leader in the M&B Division of Campbell's. Reporting to the SVP Finance- M&B, this position will be the finance business partner to the M&B Head of Sales - US Retail helping to guide sound business decisions to meet and exceed the overall financial and strategic objectives of the Division. The position will be accountable for leading overall financial leadership to the core sales organization including the personnel out in the field working directly with customers as well as the internal strategy associates. The AVP will have financial leadership over delivering the month/quarter/annual sales target commitments, drive revenue growth, marginal contribution improvement, and improved financial returns on customer investments, including shopper marketing initiatives. In addition, this position helps determine customer profitability, ensures a good control environment and supports selling expense management and incentives. This role owns, from a financial standpoint, the end-to-end operations of the M&B Sales team. This role is a member of the M&B Sales Leadership team and the M&B Finance Leadership team.

The AVP will manage a large team and have direct and indirect oversight of many individuals across various M&B finance teams. The candidate should be able to demonstrate strong people management skills and prioritize the development of future talent. Being a part of the M&B Finance Leadership Team, this role will work closely with the Commercial Finance teams, the Accounting and Controller's group as well as various partners within the business in an effort to champion overall enterprise performance linked with managing a medium/long term financial strategy.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Business Partnering - Partner with the VP - M&B Sales, SLT, M&B Finance Leadership team, Commercial Spend Team, Transactional Services, and M&B Leadership team.

Planning and Forecasting:
o Integrity of the monthly customer forecasts (volume, sales, trade, shopper marketing, consumer, selling).
o Anticipate Risks and Opportunities and communicate timely in order to enable data driven decision making and trade-off decisions.
o Development of customer Annual Operating Plan NS and trade targets. Review strategic priorities and provide overall field perspective and opportunities to the SLT. Drive Net Price Appreciation efforts with Revenue Management and Sales Leadership Team (SLT).
o Co-Own 3 Year Customer Strategic plans with Sales Strategy. Analyze inputs and develop field perspective to be included as an input to Division Strat Plan.
o Manage Selling Expense and Shopper Marketing budget - monthly projections, AOP, R&O and provide direction to SLT on spending variances and opportunities
o Partner with Category Finance leads in the IBP process. Develop analysis and insights to provide strong perspective on M&B revenue projection as well as current month tracking. Responsible for representing the Customer finance perspective at ITP (Integrated Tactical Planning), OpComm, IRR, Sales MBR, and Division MBR

Resource Management:
o Ensure spending within budgets and resources are optimally deployed.
o Manage the financial analysis of the SIP program

Trade Management:
o Manage the overall M&B Trade budget. Own the actualization of trade expense, open liability analysis, and YTG projection development with variance analysis vs. prior year, AOP and prior projection.
o Ensure checkbooks are maintained and trade spending by customer teams are within rate
o Be an overarching driving force with Revenue Growth Management and Trade efficiency
o Co-Lead the Quarterly Balance Sheet reviews with Commercial Spend team and provide guidance throughout the quarter closes

Customer P&L Management:
o Investment Analysis and Decision Support: Develop insights from analytical work, evaluate investment options, and make recommendations.
o Lead CTS modeling and analysis and leverage it during customer negotiations to better invest in our key retailers
o Provide insights around ways to drive customer profitability
o Partner with Revenue Management to drive trade optimization
o Use CTS model to identify non-compliance and remove or redeploy non-working spend
o Identify mix opportunities at key retailers that would allow more profitable growth

Effectively lead Sales Finance team, including 5 direct reports
o Drive business results and uphold fiduciary controls and compliance
o Actively create an engaging, high performance learning environment for peers and direct reports through coaching and guidance for development

Fiduciary Controls and Compliance: Ensure controls are in place and complied with appropriately.
o Manage the deduction process - set annual targets, review monthly performance
o Review late event approvals regularly and discuss systemic issues with SLT members
• Lead the Sales Monthly Business Review (SMBR) to communicate projection and financial control updates, trade analysis, Risks and Opportunities, and event ROI analysis to the SLT. Lead the discussion to drive decision making for enhanced business results.
• Change Management: Serve as a change champion in support of operating within the Finance operating model and achieving finance transformation goals.
• Partner with the e4 team to guarantee system compliance, system enhancements, reporting efficiencies, and data reconciliation processes
• Work with the Transactional Services group to review high risk customer accounts, provide perspective on business operations and potential impact on revenue and ADTP (Average Days to Pay)

• Manage financial planning & analytics over new initiatives /customer demands requiring complex modeling of outcomes at times with limited data references

• Ability to connect the dots from external (consumer) data points as well as internal dependencies
• Instill operating discipline and financial rigor with non-Finance partners.

MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED:
• Bachelor's degree in accounting/finance or related field

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
• Minimum of 15+ years of progressive financial experience, preferably in the

CPG environment with a background in commercial finance
• Minimum of 7 years leading and developing diverse teams

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE PREFERRED (NOT REQUIRED):
• MBA or CPA (Certified Public Accountant)
• EPM application skills is a plus

Compensation and Benefits:

The target base salary range for this full-time, salaried position is between
$211,200-$290,400

Individual base pay depends on work location and additional factors such as experience, job-related skills, and relevant education or training. Total pay may include other forms of compensation. In addition, we offer competitive health, dental, 401k and wellness benefits beginning on the first day of employment.
