Location: US:WI:MILWAUKEE at our FROEDTERT HOSPITAL facility.This job is ON - SITE.FTE: 1.000000Standard Hours: 40.00Shift: Shift 1Job Summary:Oversees all Froedtert Health (FH) laboratory initiatives, including quality, customer service, operations and finance. Collaborates with leadership from the system, hospitals, clinics and laboratories to design and implement programs & processes that achieve system and laboratory goals. Optimizes laboratory services for the system as a whole while also ensuring that system laboratory services support each entity's mission and vision. Serves as the system liaison to the Dynacare joint venture, helping to ensure that the joint venture meets the system's expectations. Reports to the system Vice President, Ancillary Services, but is also accountable to entity leaders for laboratory performance to meet entity needs. Works collaboratively with each Froedtert Health entity's laboratory and hospital administrators, medical staff, laboratory staff and other hospital services. Direct reports to include Laboratory Leaders at the Community Hospitals and Clinics. Other duties as assigned.
EXPERIENCE DESCRIPTION: A minimum of 5 years management experience within a similar size and scope of operation is required.
EDUCATION DESCRIPTION: Bachelors Degree in Laboratory Science or a related healthcare field is required. Masters of Business Administration or Healthcare Administration is preferred.
SPECIAL SKILLS DESCRIPTION: Demonstrated leadership skills in a total quality management environment, planning and analysis, problem solving, collaborating, coaching, communication, change facilitation and familiarity with reimbursement applications required. Comprehensive knowledge of the principles, methods, clinical practices, techniques and materials of laboratory. Broad knowledge of modern health care administration, practices, and principles within a hospital or health system. Knowledge of and ability to apply research principles, methodology, and practices utilized in a laboratory environment. Knowledge of the principles and practices of supervision and administration as applied to the management and direction of personnel within all areas of accountability. Effective managerial and administrative abilities as applied to the management of multiple programs within Laboratory services. Effective leadership and human relations abilities. Effective communication skills both in written and verbal presentation. Effective analytical ability in order to develop and analyze options, recommend solutions to and solve complex problems and issues. Ability to work harmoniously with all levels within the institution. Ability to effect collaborative alliances and promote teamwork. Ability to insure a high level of employee, patient, visitor, and external stakeholder satisfaction. Ability to evaluate business opportunities and major contracts and relationships. Must have a record of initiating change and innovation. Must have an executive presence sufficient to evaluate materials related decisions in terms of the overall mission and long term goals and objectives.
LICENSURE DESCRIPTION: Medical Technologist certification by the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) Board of Certification (BOC) or equivalent is preferred.
