Compensation Overview

The annual base salary range provided for this position is a nationwide market range and represents a broad range of salaries for this role across the country. The actual salary for this position will be determined by a number of factors, including the scope, complexity and location of the role; the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; and other conditions of employment. As part of our comprehensive compensation and benefits program, employees are also eligible for performance-based cash incentive awards.

What Is the Opportunity?

This role will lead the strategic planning and campaign development for our Enterprise Initiatives (Travelers Institute, Citizen Travelers and Sustainability).

The position is responsible for the creation of marketing strategies and the development of integrated marketing campaigns in support of Travelers Enterprise initiatives across all appropriate channels, including offline, digital, social and experiential. Partners and collaborates with senior leaders on the development of broad-based integrated marketing strategies and campaigns. Develop strategic and executional approaches which have a significant impact on the organization. Leads the execution and oversight of these campaigns with cross functional teams in a collaborative environment. Responsible for developing marketing strategies and creative briefs grounded in insights and provides thought starter approaches to the creative teams. Optimize marketing campaigns, based on performance metrics, to further drive positive business results.

Effectively communicates to all levels within the organization and maintains leadership presence in group presentations. Uses written and verbal communication to effectively inform, brief, persuade, and summarize across internal, external and stakeholder audiences. Manages integrated marketing staff to achieve results through strong talent development, performance management and clear objective and goal setting.

Embraces the adoption of AI and agile marketing techniques with an ability to work within a fast-paced environment. Oversee multiple agency relationships and manages their integration within the organization to maximize their effectiveness. Maintains a focus on being able to keep abreast of marketing changes and trends through professional growth opportunities (training, conferences, webinars, seminars).

  • Manages and oversees all integrated marketing campaigns in all channels including offline, online and experiential.

  • Sets the media strategy and oversees the execution for all business units in support of integrated marketing campaigns.
  • Works with lead media agency on appropriate mix of channels, platforms, marketing technologies, and programs to meet overall business objectives and drive positive business outcomes.
  • Provides clear and thoughtful feedback on creative work, inspires creative talent, and ensures outcomes are grounded in approved strategies.
  • Provides new ideas based on thorough understanding of business objectives.
  • Provides strategic and thoughtful input to senior managers in developing and establishing integrated marketing/advertising campaigns and policies.
  • Responsible for providing thoughtful and strategic input into the development of content.
  • Evaluates overall budget parameters and works to balance resources against business needs and available budgets.
  • Develops agency partners annual SOWs and manages agency resources and budgets.
  • Provides recommendations to partners on priorities and trade-offs based on budget and logistical limitations and/or makes recommendations on additional/alternative resources.
  • Manages employees giving direction, training and performance feedback.
  • Develops integrated marketing campaigns, driving new processes to optimize quality and efficiency and/or conducting external market research/surveys.
  • Hires vendor partners and on-boards new vendor relationships.
  • Recommends short-term and long-term strategies to maximize media investments.
  • Provides Enterprise approval to business units on all advertising media buys.
  • Works with Data and Analytics team to develop methods and processes to track effectiveness of implemented programs and makes recommendations to optimize campaigns.
  • Manages overall agency relationships and establishes their relationship within the organization.
  • Leads agency performance assessments.
  • Collaborates and influences corporate and business teams to align around shared objectives.
  • Effectively communicates with all constituents (bottom up and top down).
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
What Will Our Ideal Candidate Have?
  • 10+ years of experience in advertising, marketing or related field.
  • 7+ years of experience managing others.
  • Strong understanding of changes and trends in the media, content and digital marketplaces and how those changes impact recommended campaign strategies.
  • Strong computer skills preferred; expert knowledge of PowerPoint.
  • Proven track record working with multiple clients on marketing campaigns and creative development.
  • Expert knowledge of advertising and media platforms and trends.
  • Proven ability to build and lead strong internal team/client relationships and effectively motivate teams.
  • Able to successfully work in a matrix organization.

What is a Must Have?
  • 8 years of experience in advertising, marketing or related field.
  • 5 years of management experience.
  • Bachelor's degree.
