Job DescriptionAVP, Financial Operations - remote positionCrum & Forster is seeking an Assistant Vice President of Financial Operations to lead key finance and operational accounting activities supporting our commercial property & casualty and specialty insurance business. This role is responsible for overseeing financial operations, strengthening internal controls, supporting reporting accuracy, and driving process improvement across functions.
Key Responsibilities- Lead day-to-day financial operations, including accounting oversight, financial controls, reconciliations, and operational reporting
- Support timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes
- Partner with business, finance, treasury, underwriting, and shared services teams to improve financial workflows and issue resolution
- Monitor financial processes to help ensure compliance with internal policies, regulatory requirements, and accounting standards
- Review financial data, identify trends or variances, and escalate key issues to senior finance leadership
- Manage, mentor, and develop financial operations staff while promoting operational efficiency and accountability
- Drive process improvement initiatives, automation efforts, and control enhancements
Required Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, or a related field
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in financial operations, insurance accounting, or finance leadership roles
- Strong knowledge of financial controls, reporting processes, and accounting principles
- Experience within the property & casualty insurance industry strongly preferred
- Proven leadership, organizational, and cross-functional collaboration skills
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
- Proficiency with financial systems and Microsoft Office applications; advanced Excel skills preferred
