Job Summary:

Fueled by our success and expanding business opportunities, we are seeking an Assistant Vice President to join our growing Ancillary Carrier Consulting team. This team is dedicated to evaluating, supporting, and enhancing the services available to our Life, Disability and Supplemental Health (critical illness, hospital indemnity, accident) Carrier Partners, with a focus on delivering innovative solutions, strengthening market competitiveness, and creating long-term value for both carriers and employer clients.

The Assistant Vice President will provide analytical and operational support to senior consultants and carrier partners. This role is ideal for a professional with a foundation in group benefits and is eager to deepen their expertise in this specialized space.

Unlocking Market Insights
• Lead operational and consultative analysis of life, disability, and supplemental health carrier data to evaluate performance, support strategic decision making, and drive actionable recommendations across portfolios, markets, and renewal activity.
• Lead in-depth competitive and market research on carrier products, pricing, distribution strategies, and disruptive industry trends (e.g., technological innovations, regulatory shifts, product evolution), providing thought leadership to shape carrier strategies.
• Direct the creation and delivery of sophisticated carrier consulting deliverables, including strategic market experience reports, advanced purchasing insights, competitive positioning analyses, and long-term strategic plans, ensuring alignment with executive-level objectives.

Collaborating with Carrier Partners
• Drive the preparation and facilitation of high-stakes carrier partner meetings, leading discussions on performance, strategic initiatives, and market intelligence to strengthen partnerships and achieve mutual goals.
• Work in partnership with carriers and Cross functional internal teams to align priorities and action items, supporting disciplined execution and ongoing accountability.
• Independently lead complex engagements with carrier partners, serving as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders, resolving high-level challenges, and driving strategic outcomes.

Shaping Operational Strategy
• Strategically assess and optimize carrier product offerings, services, and operational processes (distribution, underwriting, claims, and client delivery) to drive innovation, operational efficiency, and market leadership.
• Spearhead research initiatives on emerging industry trends, synthesizing complex insights to position carriers as market leaders in response to technological advancements, regulatory changes, and product innovations.
• Provide executive-level recommendations to enhance carrier competitiveness, leveraging deep industry expertise to influence strategic decision-making.

Telling the Story with Data
• Lead the development of executive-ready PowerPoint presentations and reports, transforming complex carrier insights into compelling, actionable, and visually sophisticated narratives for internal and external stakeholders.
• Collaborate with senior leadership to translate analytical findings into transformative strategies, ensuring alignment with carrier partners' long-term business objectives.
• Mentor and coach team members in advanced data storytelling and strategic communication, fostering a culture of excellence in delivering high-quality insights.

Teaming Up for Success
• Lead and develop consulting and analytics team members, setting clear expectations, providing coaching and feedback, and ensuring high quality, timely delivery of operational and consultative analyses.
• Lead junior and mid-level team members, guiding professional development, fostering innovation, and building a high-performing, collaborative team culture.
• Provide day-to-day leadership across complex, multistakeholder engagements, coordinating internal teams and carrier partners to translate analysis into actionable recommendations and ensure disciplined execution.
• Serve as a strategic partner to senior leadership, data analysts, clinical consulting, and other specialty practices, driving integrated, high-impact solutions that align with organizational goals.
• Take full ownership of high-profile special projects, such as new carrier onboarding, advanced product development, and enterprise-level technology integrations, ensuring flawless execution and cross-functional alignment.

Requirements:
• Bachelor's Degree in Business or related field and/or equivalent professional years of experience.
• 12+ years of experience in group benefits, supplemental health, underwriting, or consulting; exposure to life, disability and/or supplemental health products required.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret large datasets and market intelligence.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to contribute to client-facing reports and presentations.
• High attention to detail and ability to perform in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word); familiarity with data visualization and automation tools (e.g., Power BI, Alteryx Designer) preferred.
• Ability to work independently, prioritize, organize, and deliver results with a strong sense of urgency in a deadline-driven environment.
• Ability to travel, as needed, to clients, prospects and industry meetings.
