What You'll Do

We’re looking for an AVP to join our Business and Advanced Solutions team! In this role, you'll provide planning and direction for the advanced solutions area and use technical knowledge to contribute to the successful marketing of business unit products relating to estate, business, executive benefit, and personal planning cases.

 

You'll Also Have The Opportunity To:

  • Provide expertise, analysis, and recommendations to producers, regional market centers, home office, and/or clients' professional advisors regarding complex estate, business, executive benefit, and financial planning cases. This includes providing specialized tax, legal, and accounting expertise.
  • Draft and design marketing and sophisticated written materials for producers, attorneys, marketing and trust officers, and accountants. Design and present instructional materials for courses, seminars, and meetings to educate producers, attorneys, and CPAs.
  • Direct activities for advanced solutions area and participate in strategic planning for advanced solutions and business market segment. Work with and through other home office departments to provide effective solutions and systems.
  • Manage and motivate staff in the most effective manner possible.
  • Provide point-of-sale assistance on highly complex, large cases.
  • Maintain the highest level of expertise in tax and legal matters concerning estate, business, executive benefit, and personal planning. Provide expertise to advanced solutions staff.
  • Perform other job-related duties and special projects as required.

Who You Are

  • Requires a law degree from an accredited law school, admittance to the bar in at least one state or CPA designation, licensed in at least one state, plus 10 or more years related experience
  • Must have a broad understanding of the sales process and comprehensive knowledge of state and federal laws relating to estate planning and business insurance
  • A solid understanding of qualified plans as well as an appreciation of product features and market trends is required
  • A CLU, ChFC, and/or CFP designation is required
  • FINRA Series 6 registration is required or must be obtained within 18 months of employment
Salary Range InformationSalary ranges below reflect targeted base salaries. Non-sales positions have the opportunity to participate in a bonus program. Sales positions are eligible for sales incentives, and in some instances a bonus plan, whereby total compensation may far exceed base salary depending on individual performance. Actual compensation for all roles will be based upon geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer. Salary Range$179000 - $285000 / year Time Off ProgramFlexible Time Off (FTO) is provided to salaried (exempt) employees and provides the opportunity to take time away from the office with pay for vacation, personal or short-term illness. Employees don’t accrue a bank of time off under FTO and there is no set number of days provided. Pension EligibleYes Additional Information Work EnvironmentsThis role offers in-office, hybrid (blending at least three office days in a typical workweek), and remote work arrangements (only if residing more than 30 miles from Des Moines, IA.).
