Full Job Description
AVP, Senior Accounting Manager
The Senior Accounting Management job supervises a team of professional level employees and manages the financial record keeping, reporting, and other accounting functions of the organization, including treasury operations. This job partners directly with asset management, portfolio management and acquisition/disposition teams, and also manages experienced professional level employees who are responsible for preparing month end closing reports and business quarterly financial analytics. This job checks accounting records and other financial reports for accuracy, completeness and conformance to procedural standards.

Key Responsibilities and Duties
  • Enforces the preparation of timely and accurate US GAAP work papers and supporting schedules to satisfy all investment accounting requirements for internal and external audits. Coordinates the day-to-day general accounting activities within the department for direct reports to ensure smooth functioning of the department.
  • Oversees the reconciliation of balance sheet, profit & loss, bank accounts, etc. to confirm that statements are correctly recorded.
  • Reviews accounting reports such as financial statements, cash flow reports, budget reports, etc. for internal and external audiences.
  • Works closely with internal and external auditors, and other financial professionals ensuring that practices are in line with the overall goals of the organization.
  • Oversee strategic initiatives and other reporting needs to include, system upgrades, process improvements, implementation of new products, and asset management initiatives.
  • Maintains investment accounting policies, procedures and control processes to ensure that policies are clear and understood by all team members
  • Monitors performance of team through regular, timely feedback as well as the formal performance review process to ensure delivery of exceptional services and engagement, motivation, and development of team.

  • Experienced data analyst with the ability to apply data and analytics (D&A) tools (e.g., Alteryx, Python, Power BI, Tableau, or similar) to extract, process, and interpret complex accounting and financial data sets

Base Pay Range: $119,000/yr - $150,000/yr

Actual base salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business sector, and geographic location. In addition to base salary, the competitive compensation package may include, depending on the role, participation in an incentive program linked to performance (for example, annual discretionary incentive programs, non-annual sales incentive plans, or other non-annual incentive plans).
