Full Job Description
We are looking for a Avionics Test Engineer who combines superb technical capabilities with a demonstrated ability to get the right things done quickly and effectively. You will work with a team of top-notch engineers and will collaborate with multiple spacecraft design, test, and operations teams. You should be comfortable with a high degree of ambiguity and relish the idea of solving problems that haven't been solved at scale before. Key job responsibilities • Work with key stakeholders across hardware and software development teams to define test strategy and requirements. • Define electrical component and subsystem test plans as needed to ensure robust electrical designs for space applications. • Support the planning and execution of design verification test, qualification, reliability, and production test campaigns for avionics subsystems. • Support the various aspects of the test engineering team through test system architecture, equipment selection, PCB design, harness design, test system build and integration, and test system commissioning and delivery to customers. • Lead test system design reviews, test plan reviews, test readiness reviews, and test results reviews. • Partner with cross-functional teams including electrical engineering, RF engineering, mechanical engineering, software, reliability, manufacturing, program management, etc. A day in the life As part of the Avionics Test Engineering team, you will develop and deliver test systems for avionics subsystems for both development and production test. You will be responsible for development test campaigns, which include board level electrical design verification test, LRU qualification test, and reliability test. About the team Our team designs and delivers the test systems that enable qualifying and acceptance testing the hardware subsystems for the flight computer, power delivery, and RF systems on the satellite avionics bus. Our team leads design verification, qualification, and reliability testing for our avionics subsystems. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS - 2+ years of hardware design and validation of components, subsystems and systems experience - Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, material science, physics or equivalent PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS - Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operations - Experience with hardware/software integration and real-time systems The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
