This role supports the development and operations of New Glenn, a single-configuration, heavy-lift orbital launch vehicle capable of routinely carrying people and payloads to low-Earth orbit, geostationary transfer orbit, cislunar, and beyond. Its first stage is fully reusable, and the vehicle was designed from the beginning to be human-capable.

As part of a small, passionate and accomplished team of experts, you will be responsible for supporting and representing the Avionics Integration team at our Rocket Manufacturing and Integration floor. This is a hands-on position that will involve you in all aspects of engineering, design, fabrication, installation and test. This position will directly impact the history of space exploration and will require your dedicated commitment and detailed attention towards safe and repeatable spaceflight.

This position will require occasional support across all shifts and stages of vehicle development as dictated by Avionics integration and test needs.

Responsibilities:
  • Serve as the Avionics technical point of contact across all work centers on our Rocket Manufacturing and Integration Floor.
  • Support the selection of avionics components and hardware during vehicle integration and test, such as connectors, backshells, cable and wire, fasteners, bonding materials.
  • Create and disposition Non-Conformances (NC) and discrepancy reports in our internal system.
  • Create/update redline drawings for the 2D electrical harness drawings, 3D electrical harness installation drawings, and Avionics LRU installation drawings.
  • Release Redline drawings in Windchill.
  • Support any DfX improvement initiatives to increase rate, productivity, and efficiency at our Rocket Manufacturing and Integration Floor.
  • Support process development and improvements with our Design teams and Integration/Test teams on the Rocket Manufacturing and Integration Floor.
  • Provide technical guidance for Avionics Installations.
  • Support the assembly, integration, test, and troubleshooting of cables and harnesses, Avionics LRUs and Avionics hardware.
  • Report on activity schedule and technical status.


Qualifications:
  • B.S. degree or higher in Electrical or an appropriate engineering field.
  • 2+ years of experience of integration and test experience in Aerospace, transportation, or related industry.
  • Hands-on experience with harness fabrication and installation, LRU fabrication and installation, and general systems integration and test on vehicles.
  • Experience using ECAD/MCAD packages to support vehicle integration.
  • Familiar with harness standards: IPC/WHMA-A-620A, NASA-STD-8739.4


Preferred Qualifications:
  • IPC/WHMA-A-620A Certification.
  • Demonstrated experience with Creo and Windchill and Routed System Designer (RSD).
  • Demonstrated experience with launch vehicle or spacecraft electrical/mechanical systems integration and test campaigns.
