OVERVIEW

Duration - 1 year contract position with potential to be extended or converted
W2 with full benefits, 9/80 Work Schedule
Customer and contract specific training will be required and provided. Location - NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory, Pasadena, CA (onsite)

JOB DESCRIPTION

Lead the coordination, planning, development and execution of the assembly level and circuit card assembly (CCA) level integration and test for avionics subsystems.

Responsible of the verification and validation of requirements/capabilities for the delivered avionics or power subsystem.

Steer the incorporation of test automation in the integration and test process.

Provide troubleshooting support of the avionics or power subsystem to the project and flight system users.

Lead will work with team members to perform the following:
  • Plan integration and test activities.
  • Assign tasks for test engineers.
  • Identify, distribute and track requirements to be tested for each test event.
  • Execute manual and/or automated test suite, regression test, and test reporting.
  • Produce documentation, including issues, test procedures, test results and training guide.
  • Lead communication with team, project users on investigation and resolution of technical issues and problem reports.

REQUIRED SKILLS
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE), with a minimum of 7 year of related experience, or Master's degree in similar disciplines with a minimum of 5 year related experience.
  • At least 5 years of experience in avionics and/or power subsystems test and integration, or a relevant field.
  • Experience in developing a subsystem test plan and deploy a test environment.
  • Has lead experience in the integration of subsystem with multiple circuit card assemblies.
  • Strong background in design and/or analysis of avionics and/or power analog and digital circuitries.
  • Flexible and accountable to meet commitments to produce quality products within budget through prioritization.
  • Experience in test management practices, including development of test metrics.
  • Experience with a coding/scripting language(s), preferably Python or shell script.
  • Extensive experience working with Unix/Linux environment.
  • Solid understanding of test automation practices and industry automation tools.
  • Experience with industry software test management tool (such as TestRail, qTest).
  • Experience with software configuration management tools (such as GIT, SVN, AccuRev, CVS, JIRA).
  • Experience in developing training documents.
  • Strong analytical skills with problem-solving experience.
  • Collaboration skills with all levels of institutional and operations personnel.
  • Strong communications skills including writing and presenting technical test and operations documentation.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with internal and external program leadership, as well as delegating tasks to team members.
