Full Job Description
A Snapshot of Your Day
Work with project automation lead engineers and project managers to schedule and stage control system Factory Acceptance Tests (FATs) for projects related to Marine (offshore and onshore), Fiber, Oil & Gas groups. As per system topology, "stage" the equipment, interconnect as shown, power up, load project specific software on the Automation System (AS)/Engineering Station (ES)/Operator Station (OS)/Operational Technology (OT) systems and ensure that all communications are properly setup and working. Witness Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) checks done for the process automation system(s) at supplier locations where automation equipment may be assembled. At the end of Factory Acceptance Test (FAT), you will be asked to disconnect all temporary connections, power-down, palletize and prep for shipment. Ensure that the equipment is properly labelled and support logistics with bill of materials being shipped.

Provide support to engineers for engineering tools such as Fabasoft, COMOS, EPlan, etc.

Maintain / issue commissioning tool kits for engineers travelling to customer sites for installation and commissioning.

Support NIST 800-171 CUI compliant environments currently being managed. Support administrative and data-steward role for the AWS Gov cloud platform.
How You'll Make an Impact
  • As a systems engineer you will be responsible for supporting project FATs (factory acceptance test) by ensuring that the project equipment is set up accurately; ensure successful outcome of system FAT.
  • Ensure industry / customer / Siemens Energy standards are met with high quality.
  • Complete tasks in an efficient and timely manner.
  • Maintain commissioning and testing tools for engineering teams by ensuring all tools are properly calibrated and records are maintained.
  • Work with logistics to ensure that the project equipment is properly tagged, and ready for shipment.
  • Collaborate with Center-of-Competence engineering teams to help support Americas engineering teams with issues related to engineering tools.
What You Bring
  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, Computer Science, Cyber Security, or related field. At least 1 year of related experience is preferred. Those with more experience may be considered for a more senior level.
  • Skilled in industrial process control software (e.g., PCS7), automation PLCs, and system installation, with a strong understanding of OT network communications and IO signal processing.
  • Familiar with cloud-based computing and proficient with industrial automation engineering tools (AutoCAD, EPLAN, COMOS a plus).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of working independently and as part of a team.
  • Fluent in English and willing to travel domestically and internationally.
