Full Job Description
ASRC Federal Advanced Research LLC (AFAR) is seeking an experienced Automation/Manual Tester to join our Remote Monitoring and Logging System (RMLS) team that supports the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) in Egg Harbor Township, NJ. This is a full-time on-site position at the William J. Hughes Technical Center for Advanced Aerospace (WJHTCAA).

RMLS is the FAA's logging system for recording maintenance work performed on facilities in the National Airspace System (NAS). RMLS provides a rich database of unstructured text; reading every log file.

Citizenship/Permanent Residency Requirement

All candidates must have the following to pass the Federal Background Investigation and obtain the FAA Public Trust security clearance.
  • Be a US Citizen, have a US Green Card, or a Non-immigrant Work Authorization (VISA).
  • Has resided in the US for three (3) consecutive years.
  • The company is unable to sponsor candidates at this time.
  • RealID Driver's License/ID or current US Passport.


Relocation Requirement

Candidate must reside or be willing to relocate within a commutable distance to Egg Harbor Township, NJ.

Education & Experience Requirement

All non-US Degrees must have a US Equivalency Certificate provided by the candidate.
  • Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or Mathematics, or a Bachelor's degree in another technical field with a minimum of thirty (30) semester hours in a combination of mathematics, statistics, and computer science.
  • Six (6) to Nine (9) years of related work experience.


Required Skills
  • Proficient/experience in:
    • Programming languages: C#, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
    • Build and maintain robust, scalable test automation frameworks.
    • Design, develop, and execute automated test scripts.
    • Test automation, specifically for web application testing, and best practices.
    • Database development in Oracle/SQL.
    • Automation testing using Selenium and/or Playwright.
    • Writing/maintaining automated test documentation, using NUnit, XUnit, and/or MSTest.
    • Cross-browser behavior and responsive testing.
  • Ability to:
    • Work independently, as well as a team.
    • Research and problem solve.
    • Communicate effectively through verbal and written communication.


Preferred Skills
  • Prior FAA test experience desired.
  • Knowledge/experience in:
    • Test Management Tools, such as JIRA or Zephyr.
    • API Testing using Postman, RestSharp, or Swagger.
    • Performance Testing using JMeter.Security and accessibility testing practices.
    • DevOps and Continue Integration/Continuous Delivery or Deployment (CI/CD) pipeline for continuous testing and validation using Jenkins.
    • Behavior-Driven Development (BDD) framework for automation testing on .NET applications, such as Specflow or Gherkin.
    • Working on Agile teams (Scrum/Kanban), using JIRA or similar defect/bug tracking tools


Essential Daily Job Duties
  • Provide 2nd Level Engineering support for RMLS:
    • Maintain and enhance existing automation frameworks and scripts.
    • Collaborate with developers, QA Analysts, and business stakeholders to understand requirements and ensure test coverage.
    • Identify, document, and track defects and issues found during testing.
    • Perform functional, integration, regression, and system testing to ensure software reliability, security, and performance in real-time environments.
    • Participate in Agile/Scrum meetings to provide test updates and metrics.
    • Assist with manual testing as needed.
    • Assist with RMLS troubleshooting and Help Desk Support.


Work Environment
  • Full-time position with a standard flexible work schedule; occasional nights or weekends may be required.
  • Occasional travel (< 10%).
  • Cubicle environment.
