About the Role:
TAI is currently seeking an experienced Automation Engineer to support Facilities, CapEx, and OpEx projects in Walkersville, MD. The Automation Engineer is responsible for a wide range of engineering functions required to support the facility and process equipment at the facility. Primary responsibilities include maintenance and improvement of plant equipment, facilities, process equipment and support systems as well as contractor coordination and management on large capital projects

Here's a glimpse into your day to day:
  • Perform/oversight of programming, maintenance and troubleshooting of programmable logic controllers and process/environmental monitoring systems.
  • Coordinate and performing calibration of instrumentation necessary for maintaining production equipment, laboratory equipment and other auxiliary measurement systems.
  • Coordinate outside calibration and maintenance activities with vendors.
  • Assist in qualification of equipment / facilities as needed.
  • Compile, analyze, draw conclusions, and provide written documentation of facility controls (including differential pressure, temperature, humidity, alarms, etc) to support Facility/Environmental reports and investigations.
  • Administer project management controls and reports status to senior management.
  • Involvement in the oversight and coordination of activities that include design, specification creation, procurement, construction management, repair of production and facilities equipment, the operation of utility plants, fire prevention, safety, and security activities.
  • Serve as an Automation SME on large scale projects for new/existing technologies.
  • Perform engineering design and bid evaluations.
  • Apply engineering principles to generate solutions to problems.
  • Develop and implement training programs necessary to transfer knowledge and/or procedures to production or laboratory personnel dealing with manufacturing techniques or process equipment.
You'll be a perfect fit if you have:
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical)
  • 2+ years of experience in an Engineering and/or Project Management capacity
  • 2+ years of experience within the Pharmaceutical, Biotech, and Life Sciences.
  • Rockwell Automation experience is highly preferred.
Compensation and Benefits:
  • Pay Range: $100,000 - $150,000 annually (based upon experience)
  • Annual Profit Sharing Bonus (variable depending on firm's performance, employee performance, and tenure).
