A Snapshot of Your Day

As the Automation Engineer, you will support the Thermal Spray & Robotics team by managing robotic systems, improving automated manufacturing processes, and enabling data-driven decision-making. Your day will include hands-on robot programming, process engineering, and developing automation tools that enhance efficiency and quality. You will also support structured light scanning and inspection activities to ensure production accuracy.

How You'll Make an Impact
  • Program, validate, and troubleshoot six-axis industrial robots (e.g., Fanuc) and integrate machine vision systems.
  • Design, develop, and implement automated processes and equipment to improve efficiency, quality, and safety.
  • Analyze manufacturing processes and drive continuous improvement using engineering and metrology tools.
  • Support structured light scanning and inspection activities using systems such as Zeiss 3D Inspect.
  • Develop automation scripts (e.g., Python) to extract, consolidate, and analyze production data.
  • Create process documentation and provide technical guidance to engineering and manufacturing teams.
What You Bring
  • High School diploma/GED that can be verified is required; pursuing a Bachelor's degree or have a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical, or related engineering field is preferred.
  • 6 mos to 2 years of professional experience in automation, robotics, or process engineering within manufacturing environment is preferred.
  • Hands-on experience programming industrial robots (preferably Fanuc) and developing automation scripts (e.g., Python).
  • Knowledge of structured light scanning, metrology tools, and inspection software (e.g., Zeiss).
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings and apply mechanical/industrial engineering principles.
  • Experience with or exposure to SAP, Siemens NX, metal joining processes, and continuous improvement methods.
