Full Job Description
POSITION TITLE: Automation Engineer

POSITION LOCATION: 4722 Pear St, Saint Joseph, MO 64503

TRAVEL: 35% Travel required (30% domestic & 5% international)

HOURS: Full Time/40 hours

JOB DUTIES: Collaborate with SME Leaders and Product Engineering. Work closely with Subject Matter Expert (SME) leaders and Product Engineering teams to design systems. Create change identification triggers, develop standards for criteria, and establish approval processes, to minimize complexities and improve profitability. Ensure automated processes and equipment follow environmental regulations and sustainability goals. Promote eco-friendly practices in manufacturing operations, to reduce carbon footprint. Coordinate manufacturing equipment proposals within the region, focusing on new launches, Continuous Improvement (CI), and capacity equipment, to standardize equipment and processes. Implement ideas into efficient automated systems for regional applications. Examine design processes for systems that meet regional operational goals. Create prototypes, conduct quality control and functional tests, and troubleshoot system malfunctions. Monitor performance of applications and machines and write comprehensive reports and guidelines. Manage documentation and provide training to SMEs and operations teams. Collaborate with multiple functional groups within the region.

REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering, Controls Engineering, Automation Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering or related field of study and 7 years of progressive experience in Manufacturing Engineering.

Applicants must have demonstrated experience with:

1) 5 years of experience with FactoryTalk Studio 5000 software.
2) 5 years of experience with FactoryTalk View Studio software.
3) Functional Safety and IEC, ANSI and ISA standards.
4) Manufacturing operations.
5) Designing with AutoCAD and SolidWorks.
6) PLC programming.
7) Estimating costs and managing budgets for automation projects.
8) Robotics and vision systems for automated manufacturing processes.
9) Implementing cybersecurity measures for OT network security and access control.
10) Using FactoryTalk Security software.
11) FactoryTalk AssetCentre install, administration, and audit.
12) Using IFM - IOLink communication system.
13) Using a Fanuc Teach Pendant tablet.
14) Using the Simatic TIA Portal.
