Automation Controls SpecialistPLC | Robotics | Industrial AutomationHuntsville, AL$100,000-$120,000/YearlyWe are hiring an Automation Controls Specialist to design, program, test, install, and troubleshoot industrial automation and control systems. This role supports automation projects from receipt of order through installation and requires hands-on experience with PLC and HMI programming, robotics, VFDs, servo drives, vision systems, electrical controls, and automated equipment.
The Automation Controls Specialist will also provide field service support for previously installed equipment and automation systems manufactured by other companies.
Responsibilities:- Manage assigned automation projects from receipt of order through testing, installation, and completion.
- Develop electrical and pneumatic control system designs for automated equipment.
- Program and configure PLCs, HMIs, industrial robots, VFDs, servo drives, and machine vision systems.
- Test, debug, and troubleshoot automated equipment, control systems, and associated electrical and pneumatic components.
- Perform equipment installation, startup, and commissioning activities.
- Diagnose automation and controls issues using analytical troubleshooting techniques.
- Provide field service support for previously installed equipment and systems manufactured by other companies.
- Configure and troubleshoot industrial I/O networks and connected automation devices.
Qualifications:- 2+ years of automation experience.
- Experience with PLC and HMI programming.
- Proficiency in PLC and/or industrial robot programming languages.
- Experience designing, programming, testing, and troubleshooting automated equipment and control systems.
- Ability to pass a drug screening and background check.
- Must have and maintain a valid driver's license.
- Must be willing to travel up to 15% of the time.
Preferred Qualifications:- Experience designing pneumatic control systems.
- Electrical controls design experience.
- AutoCAD experience, including AutoCAD Electrical 2009 or newer.
- Experience programming Motoman, FANUC, and/or ABB industrial robots.
- Experience programming Siemens, Allen-Bradley, Toyopuc, Omron, and/or Mitsubishi PLCs.
- Experience configuring industrial I/O networks.
- Experience programming Cognex and/or Keyence machine vision systems.
