Full Job Description
We are seeking a highly experienced Technical Expert in Automatic Transmissions and Driveline Systems to lead engineering excellence across critical propulsion components. This role is responsible for defining system performance, advancing design standards, and driving innovation across transmission and driveline technologies. You will serve as a recognized authority, partnering with global engineering teams to deliver best-in-class solutions for modern vehicle platforms.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead technical strategy and system requirements for automatic transmissions, manual transmissions, and electric drive modules (EDMs)
  • Own performance targets, KPIs, and technical roadmaps for driveline systems and components
  • Define and maintain specifications, design standards, and best practices across engineering teams
  • Provide final design approval and technical signoff for components within area of expertise
  • Guide design and release teams to ensure compliance with customer requirements and engineering standards
  • Lead root cause analysis, quality investigations, and corrective action initiatives for warranty and performance issues
  • Drive innovation through new technologies, materials, and advanced manufacturing processes
  • Develop and mentor engineering talent, supporting knowledge sharing and technical capability growth
  • Collaborate with suppliers and global stakeholders to optimize system performance and cost
  • Represent technical domain in leadership forums and influence key engineering decisions


Basic Qualifications:
  • A minimum of a Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related degree field
  • A minimum of 8 years of experience in propulsion systems, automatic transmissions or related field
  • GD&T, and quality standards (e.g., AGMA, ISO, DIN)
  • Proficiency with tools relating to technical domain
  • Demonstrate significant theoretical and virtual analysis approach to design and problem solving
  • Reviewing and assessing parts returned from tests and other sources and determining if they meet requirements or identifying root causes of any performance deviations
  • Experience in automotive or high-volume manufacturing environments
  • Familiarity with advanced manufacturing technologies
  • Experience working directly with manufacturing and assembly processes of technical domain
  • Strong interpersonal communication and team leadership skills and comfortable with presenting to executive leadership teams
  • Ability to travel globally to suppliers

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Masters Degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • Working level experience with suppliers of automatic transmissions, driveline systems and EDM gear reducers
  • Greenbelt or Blackbelt DFSS certifications
