  • Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for system improvement.
  • Work cross-functionally with Intel Foundry Automation and external suppliers on system enhancements.
  • Participate in an on-call rotation for 24x7 automation support.

We are seeking a talented and motivated Automated Material Handling Systems (AMHS) Software Engineer to join our team at Intel's Ocotillo campus in Chandler, Arizona. In this critical role, you will be at the heart of Fab 62's operations, designing, developing, and sustaining the software systems that power the automated movement and storage of semiconductor wafers and reticles across our world-class manufacturing facility. You will work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment alongside cross-functional teams, equipment vendors, and automation partners to ensure our factory automation systems operate at the highest levels of reliability and performance. This is a unique opportunity to make a direct and meaningful impact on semiconductor manufacturing in the United States.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design, develop, test, validate, debug, and sustain software solutions that support automated material handling and storage systems across the Ocotillo campus.
  • Support the integration, installation, qualification, and startup of AMHS and manufacturing equipment for Fab 62 and campus-wide operations.
  • Enable reliable automated movement and storage of semiconductor wafers and reticles throughout the OTF campus, ensuring operational continuity and production readiness.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing customers, operations teams, and project stakeholders to identify requirements and deliver effective automation solutions.
  • Partner with the AMHS Command Center and Project Management Office (PMO) to troubleshoot operational issues, manage escalations, and drive timely resolution of system events.
  • Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to continuously improve system reliability, performance, and maintainability.
  • Work cross-functionally with Intel Foundry Automation organizations and external suppliers to support ongoing system enhancements and operational excellence.
  • Participate in an on-call rotation supporting a 24x7 high-availability automation environment, with flexibility to adjust scheduled hours to support new factory project milestones.

Qualifications:

You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates. Experience would be obtained through a combination of prior education level classes, and current level school classes, projects, research and relevant previous job and/or internship experience. This Position is not eligible for Intel immigration sponsorship.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in STEM, computer science, computer engineering, information systems, or a related field.
  • Work in a 24x7 high-availability environment and participate in an on-call rotation.
  • 1+ years of experience with any of the following:
    • Unix/Linux operating environments.
    • Familiarity with VB scripting, SQL query writing, and log analysis tools.
    • Data extraction and analysis.
    • Troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with experience applying Model-Based Problem Solving methodologies.


Preferred Qualifications:
  • 1+ years of experience in:
    • Project Management and Lean Six Sigma methods
    • Semiconductor or advanced manufacturing experience

Annual Salary Range for jobs which could be performed in the US: $128,880.00-211,200.00 USD

The range displayed on this job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target compensation for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
