Full Job Description
As an Automated Material Handling System (AMHS) Equipment Engineer, you will be responsible for the startup, optimization, reliability, and continuous improvement of advanced automated material handling systems supporting semiconductor manufacturing operations. This role plays a critical part in maximizing equipment availability, improving fab cycle time, driving productivity gains, reducing operating costs, and mitigating operational risk.

You will lead efforts to identify, diagnose, and resolve equipment performance issues using structured problem-solving methodologies including Failure Analysis, FMEA, 8D, SPC, and FDC. In partnership with manufacturing, facilities, and equipment suppliers, you will execute equipment evaluations, manage new tool qualifications, and implement system improvements that enhance AMHS performance, reliability, and scalability.

The AMHS Equipment Engineer is accountable for the overall health and performance of assigned systems, proactively identifying potential bottlenecks and developing redundancy strategies to ensure uninterrupted material flow throughout the fab. This position also serves as a key technical interface with vendors responsible for the installation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of AMHS equipment and software systems. We are seeking engineers who embrace the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and digital technologies to solve complex manufacturing challenges, automate repetitive work, improve system reliability, and accelerate engineering decision-making

Responsibilities:
  • Own the reliability, performance, and continuous improvement of AMHS hardware and software systems.
  • Drive equipment uptime, efficiency, cycle time improvements, and cost reduction initiatives.
  • Investigate and resolve equipment issues using structured root-cause analysis and data-driven methodologies.
  • Lead equipment evaluations, optimization projects, and implementation of system changes.
  • Manage new equipment installations, startup activities, qualifications, and acceptance testing.
  • Apply software tools such as Python, SQL, C#, Ignition, Power BI, and JMP Scripting to improve system performance.

  • More than 5 years of experience maintaining automation or material handling machinery within a manufacturing setting.
  • Over 3 years of experience in fast-paced manufacturing environments.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Semiconductor manufacturing experience.
  • Experience supporting semiconductor AMHS systems.
  • Experience with transport automation, factory automation, or industrial control systems.
  • Experience applying scripting, machine learning, or advanced analytics to improve equipment performance.
  • Familiarity with SEMI standards and semiconductor factory automation architectures.
