Join the Louisiana Department of Health as an Attorney and play a key role in shaping complex Medicaid and healthcare policy across Louisiana. Serves the State and the Louisiana Department of Health (LDH) in a highly responsible legal, consultative, and administrative position within the Bureau of Legal Services as a specialized senior legal counsel to the Office of the Secretary of LDH on matters relating to the following programs/offices: 1) Medicaid Fee-for-Service (FFS); 2) Medicaid Managed Care; 3) Medicaid Waivers; 4) Medicaid Finance; 5) Medicaid Services (including, but not limited to, Pharmacy, Transportation, and Early and Periodic Screening, Diagnosis, and Treatment services); 6) Office of Behavioral Health (OBH) Medicaid programs; 7) LDH Office of Aging and Adult Services (OAAS); 8) Pre-Admission Screening and Resident Review (PASRR); and 9) Federal litigation. Incumbent will work on special litigation project involving state and federal Medicaid issues and litigation projects of Department-wide impact or significance.

Job Duties and Other Information Job Duties:
- Provides specialized legal counsel and guidance to the Louisiana Department of Health on complex Medicaid and healthcare matters.
- Advises LDH leadership on legal issues involving Medicaid programs, policies, services, and operations.
- Provides legal support regarding Medicaid Fee-for-Service, Managed Care, Waivers, Finance, and related services.
- Advises the Office of Behavioral Health and the Office of Aging and Adult Services on Medicaid-related legal matters.
- Provides legal counsel on federal litigation and complex state and federal Medicaid issues.
- Researches and analyzes laws, regulations, policies, and legal developments affecting LDH programs and operations.
- Supports department-wide legal initiatives and special litigation projects involving significant or complex Medicaid and healthcare issues.

Attorney 4 - $39.07 hr / $3,125.60 bi-weekly
