  • Core Knowledge & Skills: Works across multiple languages and platforms, designs and implements architectural decisions, applies design patterns, cloud-native services, IAAS/PAAS/SAAS basics, and secure coding practices (e.g., OWASP Top 10).
  • Work & Complexity: Performs complex tasks under limited guidance, integrates and troubleshoots distributed or cloud services, and optimizes performance and scalability.
  • Quality & Independence: Sets a high bar for code quality, multitasks effectively, owns and corrects errors quickly, and drives continuous improvement.
  • Teamwork & Communication: Leads code reviews, mentors teammates, and translates technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders.
  • Consulting & Engagement: Works directly with clients without oversight, writes technical RFP content when needed, nurtures client relationships, and manages routine client concerns.
As your initial project assignment, you will support the unique needs of our client as a Atlassian Platform Engineer.

Join AIS as a Senior Enterprise Atlassian Engineer, supporting enterprise-level Jira and Confluence administration for a high-visibility national security mission. This hands-on role is critical to modernizing and scaling collaboration platforms across multi-enclave environments. You'll partner with mission, security, IT, and operations teams to deliver resilient, secure, and high-performing Atlassian solutions that drive federal public safety and national security objectives

Key Responsibilities
  • Administer and scale Jira, Confluence, JSM, and Crowd for daily enterprise operations.
  • Triage and resolve support tickets-from access requests to advanced configuration changes.
  • Improve workflows, fields, dashboards, reports, templates, and permission models.
  • Manage marketplace apps, including installs, upgrades, troubleshooting, and performance checks.
  • Oversee access and identity via Crowd, Microsoft Entra ID, and SSO integrations.
  • Run platform operations: upgrades, patches, deployments, backups, logging, and monitoring.
  • Support compliance needs, including ATO documentation, audits, and configuration baselines.

Required For This Opportunity
  • Active Top Secret clearance
  • Ability to work onsite in Washington, DC (5 days/week)
  • Minimum 5 years supporting enterprise IT platforms or collaboration ecosystems
  • Handson experience administering enterprise Jira, Confluence, and Crowd with focus on workflow design, automations and plugin management
  • Familiarity with Linux administration, PostgreSQL, MySQL, and FISMA/ATO compliance
  • Strong written and verbal communication; excels in stakeholder engagement and cross-team collaboration.
  • Comfortable operating in fast paced, dynamic environments; able to prioritize and deliver under shifting mission needs.
  • Familiarity with Agile/SAFe; able to configure tools to reflect bestpractice delivery models and ceremonies.


Nice to Have Skills
  • Experience in federal/highsecurity or multienclave environments.
  • Experience integrating AIenabled capabilities (e.g., classifiers, intelligent routing) into enterprise collaboration platform.
