Job TitleAtlassian Jira Software Engineer Overview / Summary We are seeking a Software Engineer with experience designing, developing, configuring, customizing, and supporting Atlassian solutions, particularly Jira and Confluence. This role involves working across the software development lifecycle, collaborating with cross-functional teams, developing integrations and automations, and delivering solutions that improve efficiency and user experience.
Key Responsibilities - Engage with customers and stakeholders to understand use cases, pain points, and requirements and advocate for user-centric software solutions.
- Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain software applications and solutions.
- Design and implement Atlassian solutions, including Jira Service Management, Jira Software, Jira Work Management, and Confluence.
- Configure and customize Jira products to automate processes, improve efficiency, and enhance the user experience.
- Develop custom workflows, scripts, and automations to enhance Jira functionality and leverage add-ons.
- Develop and maintain back-end applications, including APIs and microservices using server-side programming languages.
- Create user-friendly and interactive interfaces.
- Assess application requirements and determine appropriate technology stacks, integration methods, and deployment strategies.
- Create high-level software architecture designs outlining application structure, components, and interfaces.
- Collaborate with product owners, designers, architects, engineers, and other cross-functional teams.
- Define and implement software testing strategies, guidelines, policies, and processes.
- Support practices that safeguard user data, including encryption and anonymization.
- Improve application performance and optimize solutions while evaluating and incorporating emerging technologies.
- Develop and maintain integrations between Atlassian products and other enterprise systems.
- Integrate Atlassian products with CI/CD pipelines.
- Perform data migration between Atlassian environments while maintaining data integrity and minimizing disruption.
- Implement and maintain Confluence spaces, permissions, and knowledge bases.
- Develop scripts and automations using technologies such as Python and Groovy.
- Explore and integrate AI capabilities, including Large Language Models (LLMs), with Jira for ticket classification, summarization, recommendation systems, and conversational interfaces.
- Develop architecture artifacts, business capability models, process models, application integration models, and data models.
- Document process diagrams, technical design decisions, system integrations, and future-state considerations.
- Plan, prioritize, and support multiple concurrent projects while delivering solutions within required time and cost constraints.
Required Qualifications - Bachelor's degree.
- 4+ years of experience in IT.
- 3+ years of experience in software development.
- Experience with at least one coding language or framework.
- Experience with Jira.
- Experience with Java.
