Full Job Description
As a Commercial Leadership Associate (CLA), you'll be at the forefront of AstraZeneca's US Oncology Commercial teams, influencing critical marketing and operational strategies. You'll take the lead on opportunity assessments, channel leadership, messaging, and launch/lifecycle product planning. Your strategic insights will drive the development of operational plans and support our key customers with actionable market access information, enabling them to shape future initiatives and impact patient journeys.

You'll collaborate closely with our Commercial leadership team to solve ad-hoc data challenges, provide recommendations, and advance Market Research, Access, Insight tools, and capabilities. Your contributions will be pivotal in crafting the future of oncology treatment and patient care.

Minimum Requirements:
  • MBA graduation date between June 2026 and June 2027.
  • Validated academic excellence.
  • 3-6 years of pre-MBA work experience, with demonstrated progression in responsibility, scope, or impact.
  • Demonstrated commitment to a commercial career in healthcare, evidenced through relevant professional experience, academics, internships, project work, or other substantive exposure to healthcare, pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, or a related industry.
  • Demonstrated leadership and influence, with evidence of leading teams, projects, or initiatives, navigating ambiguity, and driving measurable outcomes across stakeholders without relying on direct authority.
  • Strong analytical and digital fluency, including experience using data, technology, and AI-enabled tools to generate insights, solve business problems, and inform decisions.
  • Exceptional communication, learning agility, and adaptability, with the ability to communicate complex ideas clearly and persuasively, take initiative, and incorporate feedback in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.
  • Willingness to work on-site in Gaithersburg, MD (metro Washington, DC).
Preferred Experiences:
  • Healthcare Specialty MBA.
  • Pharmaceutical experience.
  • Professional experience in pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, medical technology, healthcare, or another complex, highly regulated industry.
  • Experience in one or more commercial disciplines, such as marketing, sales, market access, business strategy, insights and analytics, or finance.
  • Demonstrated success leading through influence, navigating ambiguity, and delivering measurable results.
  • Experience analyzing secondary or sales data, customer segments, forecasts, contracts, or financial models.
  • Experience presenting recommendations to senior leaders or influencing decisions across multiple stakeholders.
  • A deep understanding of the market access landscape and proficiency in secondary analysis.
  • Familiarity with managed markets, including sales data reporting, analysis, and customer targeting strategies.
  • Robust analytical skills in problem-solving, forecasting, contract development, and financial modeling.

The annual base pay or this position ranges from $160,000.00 to $165,000.00. Our positions offer eligibility for various incentives-an opportunity to receive short-term incentive bonuses, equity-based awards for salaried roles and commissions for sales roles. Benefits offered include qualified retirement programs, paid time off (i.e., vacation, holiday, and leaves), as well as health, dental, and vision coverage in accordance with the terms of the applicable plans.
