As a people leader, the AVP will lead, coach and develop a high-performing team responsible for advancing TD’s enterprise colleague listening and culture agenda. This includes setting the vision and multi-year strategy for TD’s colleague listening ecosystem, including the enterprise listening survey and broader listening channels, as well as leading the enterprise culture strategy and roadmap, including the activation and ongoing evolution of the TD Way. The AVP will translate TD’s culture ambition into clear behaviours and practical leadership expectations; embed the Who We Are behaviours and How We Lead principles across the colleague experience; partner across HR and the businesses to build awareness, adoption and accountability; and establish measures to assess culture health and progress.

The AVP is accountable for setting enterprise direction across colleague listening and culture, translating insight into action and driving measurable outcomes in the following areas:

Set the Enterprise Colleague Listening Strategy
  • Set the multi-year strategy for colleague listening, ensuring TD has timely, meaningful and actionable insight into the colleague experience.
  • Own the enterprise listening architecture across relationship surveys, pulse listening, lifecycle listening, targeted research, qualitative listening and emerging listening methodologies.
  • Lead the design and delivery of TD's enterprise colleague survey and related listening programs, including survey strategy, content, methodology, governance, reporting and action planning.
  • Establish the listening operating model, governance, standards and annual listening calendar, creating clarity on when and how TD listens, how insights are integrated, and how leaders are expected to respond.
  • Ensure listening is purposeful and coordinated, balancing the organization's need for insight with a simple, respectful and compelling colleague experience.

Turn Insight into Enterprise Action
  • Integrate listening data with other people and business insights to create a holistic view of colleague experience and culture health.
  • Translate complex quantitative and qualitative findings into clear enterprise narratives, strategic implications and recommendations for senior executives and key decision-making forums.
  • Identify the most important drivers of engagement, experience and culture, and connect those insights to talent, risk and business outcomes.
  • Surface emerging colleague themes and risks early, enabling leaders to make informed, timely decisions.
  • Strengthen accountability for action by establishing clear expectations, measures and operating rhythms for enterprise and local follow-through.
Lead the Enterprise Culture Strategy and TD Way Activation
  • Lead the enterprise culture strategy and roadmap, including the activation and evolution of the TD Way
  • Translate TD's culture ambition into observable behaviours, practical leadership expectations, organizational practices and measurable culture outcomes.
  • Embed the Who We Are behaviours and How We Lead principles into the moments that shape the colleague experience, including leadership, talent practices, performance, recognition, communications, change and ways of working.
  • Partner across HR and the businesses to develop integrated activation plans that build awareness, understanding, adoption and accountability.
  • Establish measures of culture health and adoption, identifying where behaviours are strengthening and where additional intervention, support or leadership focus is required.

Build Governance, Measurement and Capability
  • Establish clear enterprise governance, decision rights, standards and operating rhythms for colleague listening and culture.
  • Define meaningful measures of success for colleague experience and culture activation and regularly assess progress against them.
  • Develop executive-level reporting that connects colleague sentiment, behaviours, culture adoption and organizational outcomes.
  • Apply external research, benchmarking and emerging practices to continually strengthen TD's approach.
  • Lead and develop a high-performing team with clear accountability, strong capability and a commitment to exceptional outcomes.
  • Manage external partners, vendors and investments as required, ensuring strong outcomes and responsible stewardship of resources.
