Description

The Analyst conducts qualitative (e.g. research, interviewing outreach and report development) and quantitative (e.g. development of spreadsheet tools, management datasets, GIS mapping and data processing, light coding/scripting) assignments to support efforts such as statewide and regional planning studies, multimodal corridor studies, transit planning projects, financial and economic analysis, transportation policy analysis, asset management, freight/rail planning, safety, grant writing, and environmental analysis.

The Analyst interfaces with clients and performs business development tasks such as networking and proposal development. They take responsibility for products delivered to clients and take pride in deliverables that reflect well on the clients and on Cambridge Systematics. The Analyst is responsible for managing projects and tasks or serving as deputy project manager with support from senior staff.

Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesProject Delivery
• Produces and delivers exceptional quality work that is thorough, polished, and reflects well on CS • Provides exceptional value-added service to project managers and/or clients and communicates consistently with internal and external team members • Actively listens and seeks to understand client or project manager needs • Meets chargeability expectations

Project Management
• Delivers all projects on-time, on-budget, and to the client or project manager's satisfaction • Provides constructive and ongoing feedback to project team members • Provides clear direction to all project staff regarding project objectives and their role in achieving them • Develops and implements project delivery plan for each project • Updates project staffing in CS staffing program on time each month • Reviews and submits invoices and progress reports on time

Business Development
• Participates in regional, business unit, and other business development initiative meetings to identify and coordinate BD and marketing activities • Contributes to sound bid/no-bid decisions • Develops effective win themes, teaming strategies, pricing strategies, and technical content for all proposals in area of responsibility • Builds and maintains long-term client relationships and actively listens to their needs • Maintains post-delivery communication with clients to ensure long-term satisfaction and to prospect for repeat/expanded business • Builds strong positive relationships with management, NPLs and senior consultants, and marketing & communications staff to develop winning proposals

Position Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 5+ years of experience in transportation engineering, planning, or related field
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Organized; ability to lead tasks independently
  • Proficient narrative writing skills
  • Effective presentation skills


Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree
  • Previous or current project management or deputy project management experience
  • Experience working with transportation clients in New England
  • GIS experience
  • Grant writing and Benefit Cost Analysis knowledge and/or experience
  • Experience working with large datasets

Salary: $95k-$115k
